Painting doors has become a bit of a recent hobby for me.
I just love that a quick coat of paint can make such a difference in a space.

Here’s what our patio looked like earlier this summer, right after painting the trim work in white.

I decided that black would be the best choice. I chose Jet Black by Behr in Premium Plus Ultra Exterior. Because we installed a door with such a large window, it was a 20 minute project.
Love that.

Then, I added a tiny little message that pays homage to the fact that we are living in the barn.

I told you. I’m having a moment with the cow theme.
I. Love. This. Space.

What do you think?
The paint for this project was provided by Behr. Still no professional painters or idea generators sent my way. Thanks for supporting sponsors of NewlyWoodwards, who help make this crazy land possible.
This space is phenomenal and I love your vinyl saying on there!! So perfect!!
The black was a good choice. I love a bold door.
Thanks, Emily! I’m always amazed at how a pop of color (even black) can really change the look of a door and space.
Love the new color and you are cracking me up with the cows
I can’t stop myself.
Love it! How did you do the message?
I cut it from vinyl on my Silhouette machine.
Love how the black pops with those beautiful white windows. Til the Cows Come Home for the win
I like to beat a dead horse. Or a dead cow.
No, I like them alive.
Love the black! And the little “til the cows come home” is super cute!
Looks great!
Great contrast and it totally works with your turquoise accessories. Love.
Very pretty! I can’t wait to craft here next week! Woo hoo!
i love it- i told you before how i like how this barn has sort of a modern edge to it, and this door makes it more so to me as well- clean and sleek!
Thanks! It’s definitely a more modern feel than any other space in our house. I love it.
