Lola loves fire

February 29, 2012 by Kim Woodward

We’ve had a very mild winter, but that doesn’t mean we haven’t been using our fireplace. We’ve actually been using it like crazy, despite less severe winter weather outside. We have saved a bundle on heating costs and our furnace has rarely been running. I think the fireplace insert has been worth it weight in gold.

And, wouldn’t you know that the biggest fan of the fireplace is our little Lola?

I did not pose her here. This is where she sits – right in front of the vent on the fireplace insert. She loves the heat. She’s a little heat-monger.

And if she’s not sitting there, she’s snuggling in the nearest chair with Ryan, enjoying the fire.

These pugs crack me up. They have it so rough.

Don’t you mean “ruff?” ; ) My dogs do the EXACT same thing… get as physically close as possible to the fire and hunker down in that spot alll night. It’s hilarious!

So sweet. Chester tends to get too hot by the fire. I, however, would love to lay like Lola does.

Her squashy face literally makes me want to climb through the computer screen. Gidget used to do that in front of the fire… This house doesn’t have a working fireplace.

Those puppies are just so darn cute! Every pic is just perfect. I wanted to let you know that you have inspired me so much that I awarded you the Sunshine Award:) It’s just a little award for bloggers to give out to other blogs that bring sunshine into our lives. I hope you can check out the post: http://thebloomingdaisy.blogspot.com/2012/03/sunshine-award.html

So cute! One of our pups is the same way. Occasionally, we have to stop her from crawling INTO the fireplace.

I love seeing pictures of the pugs! I can’t wait to see pictures of the pugs and the baby.. that is just going to be cuteness overload!!!

Too cute. She looks like she’s thinking, “What mom? I’m just warming my butt”. Jack cuddles up to our space heater when we have it out. I have a ton of pictures of him laying on his bed with his paws under the space heater. It looks like he’s drying his nails. Silly dogs.

Ha. This reminds me of my mom’s dachshunds. I like to refer to them as heat seeking missiles. 😉

Glad to hear that you are getting good use out of your fireplace! I’m a tad jealous that you have a *working* fireplace. 😉

Tell me more about this fireplace insert. We want to do something to our fireplace because fires are pretty much useless in there and have been thinking about a gas insert, but this one is so much prettier.

So envious of your fireplace insert…it would be awesome to save on heating costs. :s Lola is such a little cutie!

Our at Savannah is the same way. She gets as close to the fire as she can (while still resting on a confortable surface) and will sleep for hours. She gets so hot that we’ll turn her to make sure that she doesn’t spontaneously combust 🙂

Lola could be a Calendar Pug, for sure! Great pic, Kim! Maybe you could submit this one for the next Owned By Pugs Calendar: http://www.ownedbypugs.com/index.php/CalendarContest/calendar

    🙂 Much love!

Adorbs! My cat is the same way. He will steal the heat right out from under you. His favorite is to sit up against the vent on the computer when the fan is blowing.

she is SO cute! i think i would be sitting right there next to her. We are considering purchasing a fireplace insert too…good to know that you have seen a significant cost reduction for heating!

We turned our fireplace on Christmas Day,and I think that was about it. We just can’t justify doing it when the temps outside are pushing 60! 😉

Love that little Lola. So cute

So cute!! I love puggies! I’m sure I’ve mentioned this before, but every time I look at your pugs, they look so much bigger than mine! I’m talking general size-wise, I mean … mine is a little fatty. 🙂

What a cutie……my ‘lil Lola! I’d say send her to Grandma but Ryan would be on his way to the airport sending Franco!!!! So I’ll bite my tongue and just send hugs and kisses from sunny Arizona for both of my grand-pugs! Grandma ♥’s you Franco & Lola!
