It’s not easy being green

April 27, 2010 by Kim Woodward

After days of rain, I was finally able to mow the lawn. It was very, very long. And, afterwards, my shoes looked like this.

And Lola looked like this. (She was so happy to help her mom mow the lawn.)

Zoom in on those paws.

Needless to say, a bath was in the cards.

Is the grass growing like crazy in your neck of the woods, too?

Bwahahahahaha!!! Lola doesn’t seem to mind. She looks like she’s magically transforming into an adorable little frog in that 1st pic (green paws, tongue out, huge eyes).

Oh my goodness, the green paws are so funny!
I made the mistake of mowing in nice new white sneakers once. I’ll never make that mistake again.

Lol, I love this. Casco’s chin is stained green. He has a thing for grass clippings. We’re very proud.

So cute. Chester turns into the Jolly Green Puppy when the grass is cut- he rolls all over in the grass. Did you see this? http://makingitlovely.com/2010/04/27/cooped-up/
    Thought of you!

I am swooning over those paws! How can you expect me to handle that giant floppy tongue, squishy pug face, AND tiny green paw?

    aww..baby lola looks a little shrieky 🙂

I won’t let Murph outside while Mark mows. I see it as a freak accident waiting to happen! But you guys use electric, right? Much less dangerous I think!

I LOVE LOVE the green paws. I think Lola should consider starting a new trend! 🙂 And our grass needs to be mowed badly. So maybe my little dog will follow Lola’s trend…

That is halarious! Poor little puppy (…I wonder if that means he’s good at gardening – – you know, green thumbs and all?)

The grass is growing really fast here too – don’t think I have ever had to mow this early before!

OMG…..I always lock them up on the porch when I mow it! This is an absolute classic. It reminded me of the first time I came home and you were baking cookies with my mom. It looked like a bunch of messy work to me. I said, “Do you do this coz it’s fun?” She replied “Heavens no honey, I’m just a good Grandma!” You ARE a good doggy mommy Kimmy Ann!

Is it weird that I want to make that picture of Lola my background? I seriously giggled for about 2 minutes after I saw it.

The grass is getting a little ridiculous here too. This morning I cut through the “front lawn” to load my car and I felt like I was on safari. The landscapers need to get a move on it.

I’ve got to mow my yard today, too. All this rain has it looking like a jungle.

Confession: I have never used a lawn mower, ever. I can use miter saws, floor sanders, industrial compactors, but the lawn mower scares me. I know, so lame!
    I love the green paws!

Oh my goodness! Lola in her “green shoes” is the cutest! The grass is coming in slowly here in Maine, but Chris did the first mow this weekend. He loves mowing, so I never end up touching the lawn.

I definitely would not have given Lola a bath. The comedic factor alone was worth any green footprints in your house. And I’m such a wuss, I won’t go near the lawnmower. I’m barefoot, pregnant and in the kitchen over here. Mowing the lawn is clearly the husband’s job.

OMG! That is hilarious! Too bad it’s not St. Patty’s Day! Our lawn is growing pretty green and long lately. But we haven’t had a ton of rain.

I just mowed our lawn yesterday too Kim…it was beginning to resemble a jungle and the hubster is on travel in sunny FL so the boys and I tackled it. LOVE all the grass clippings for the garden!
