Herb-a-licious

May 13, 2009 by Kim Woodward

The deck is beginning to smell downright delightful. Planting herbs in pots on the deck was the best idea we’ve had. I love that they are visible from the house, deck and street. And, they really do smell yummy.

My favorites:
Sweet basil
Oregano

Cilantro

Mint (mojitos, here we come)
And, I love the look of the window boxes on the deck. They blend in quite nicely.

(Note: I picked up the little silver labels at Michael’s on clearance. I used my handy-dandy label maker – which I truly believe is a necessity in any household – to label the plants. Now, my silly self won’t grab parsley when I mean to grab cilantro.)

What’s your favorite herb to use in cooking?

Thank you. I’ve been looking for this data. Wonderful info I am going to return intended for facts linked to your soda and pop diet regime.

I love your plant tags! We have all of those herbs in pots too, but I love your idea of putting them in boxes off the deck. I might have to look into that myself!
