Family photos

December 20, 2011 by Kim Woodward

Our little family got our photos taken by a professional this year, in the hopes that we’d get better shots and have less stress (from trying to set up a tripod and timer ourselves).

At first, I felt a little silly getting professional photos taken when we don’t have kids, but I’m so happy we did. It’s nice to have some “good” pictures of us, regardless of whether we have a little one.

We were really happy to work with Erin with Candid Moment Photography. She was wonderful and was able to capture some great family photos for us – which is a huge accomplishment when we have two squirmy and uncooperative pugs and a husband who really isn’t a fan of getting his photos taken.
Here are a few of my favorites.

I just sent my Christmas cards with a few photos. I’ll share the card soon.

If you are in the Quad Cities, I highly recommend Erin. Check her out!

That looks so fun! I’d like to do professional photos for our 5 year anniversary next fall but it might take me 5 years to talk John into it. Any tricks you used to get Ryan to go for it?

Love these all Kim! I love it when couples schedule photo sessions, even if they don’t have kiddos yet. There’s just something magical about having those photos just of them–I always imagine future kids will love looking at them 🙂

Thanks for posting this! We were contemplating doing the same thing (having pro pictures taken even though we don’t have kids). These look amazing! I think we might take the plunge next summer…

Fantastic family photos! The first one is my fave!

You’re not the only ones. We got professional photos of us and our dog a few years ago.

These look great!! The dogs look like they were on their best behavior! 🙂 I’ve been trying to get my little family together to do this all month and have failed miserably. I think I’m just going to take a picture of Joseph in front of the tree all lit up and call it done.

    Kim,
These pictures look awesome! I especially love the first one (you two just look so natural).

Alex and I had professional photos taken a couple years ago and I still love looking at them. And dogs are just as much your children as babies are.
    Merry Christmas!

Great pictures! I totally agree–it’s nice to just have nice photos of the two of you, with or without kids. I felt silly getting photos taken before our baby was born, too, but I’m so glad to have them now! Your pics look fantastic!
