Family photos

October 13, 2009 by Kim Woodward

I set up the self timer on our camera last weekend to try to get a family photo before it gets too darn cold to sit on the porch. For some reason, I wanted a picture of the four of us on the porch for our Christmas card. And, I have a coupon code for Hallmark.com that expires on the 2oth.

Getting a family photo is nearly impossible, and Ryan really hates getting it professionally done because it’s stressful. (Just imagine two pugs running around, snorting and just generally acting like they’ve never been taught manners, or to hold still.)

This was the best of the photos. Although neither of the dogs are looking at the camera. At least the pugs weren’t attacking each other. That’s something, right?
Then, I thought I could play with the colors. What do you think? Are any of them Christmas-card worthy?

I like the second to last one with the less saturated color, almost a cross between color and sepia. It’s warm and timeless.

I really like it. 🙂 I think the last one looks really good or the muted one.

A self timer…now WHY haven’t I tried that? I think it’s a great photo and the dogs are just fine. =)

I usually prefer black & white pics but I really LOVE the first one–the red door just pops and you guys & the pooches look super cute in color.

“super cute in color”…..did things just get weird in here? =]

Your pictures turned out great, and all of them are card worth. Although I like the last two the best.

You guys look super cute! I hate to be the odd one out, but I like the first or last one. The 2nd to last photo doesn’t say Christmas Card to me.

We’re hoping to do photos this week. We were scheduled for tomorrow but its supposed to rain, and not stop for probably over a week (here in Seattle the typical weather is grey with a drizzle). I’m not sure if we’ll reschedule or find an indoor spot. Here’s hoping there are some breaks in the drizzle tomorrow 🙂

very cute 🙂 hey, if the dogs are actually not blurry from movement, then i call that a success.

I like the third one, with the vintage-y feel. I think it would look really cozy and warm on a card 🙂

Lol, I made B do this with me two weeks ago – and when I told him we needed to do round two, he was not happy. I love the picture, especially the faded color version (second from bottom).
