I am clearly not the first person to buy a reusable produce bag, but I am excited about my purchase anyhow. So, I’ll share.
We always use our cloth bags at the store, but hate all the little produce bags we end up with. So, I jumped at the chance to buy a reusable produce bag from a sweet gal at our Farmer’s Market. It took a couple weeks for her to make it, but I just love it.
Here it is.
The strap goes over my shoulder and the bag fits lot of apples and oranges (and other things, I’m sure, but I haven’t tried yet).
While I bought mine locally, there are a lot of similar styles on Etsy. Check them out. Banish those produce bags, friends.

I have the same issue/question as the earlier commenters. I’ve been putting all my produce in one of my ‘green’ bags but then feel bad when the cashier has to stand there and pull out all the oranges, weight them, put them back, pull out the asparagus, weigh, put back, etc…. So I went back to using the plastic bags, but then I feel so ungreen, hah!
When I’m at the farmers market it doesn’t matter because you pay as you pick it up and then throw it all together in one bag.
I would guess so, if they are by the pound. I buy most of my produce at the farmer’s market and Aldis, which has a straight cost. Usually when I go to the Supermarket, I only have a few produce items, so it isn’t a problem.

I was about the ask the same question as Emily. If you put all your produce in one bag, do they have to take them all out to weigh them at the checkstand?
Very clever – I do think about that when I’m buying produce and pulling plastic bags to put into my “green” bag. But here’s the question – how do they know what to charge you? I always bag like items together so that they can weigh them more easily. Hmm.
