Happy Monday! Hope you had lots of family time and tons of chocolate this weekend. The Easter bunny brought me some sort of a sinus infection. Dirty rotten no good ….
So, I’m nursing myself back to help with the help of all of Henry’s Easter candy.
What? Stop judging me. You know you would steal all of your kid’s candy, too, if you were in my shoes.
While I drown my sorrows in Zyrtec and Reeses eggs, here’s a little recap of our Easter festivities. I love Easter with a kid. The more Henry grows, the more fun holidays become.
We woke up bright and early on Saturday to check out the zoo’s Easter egg hunt for members. It was Henry’s first hunt and he did great.
My brother and Ryan scouted out the best spot, which allowed him a few minutes to figure it out before the MOB OF CRAZY came from the starting line. Seriously – there was some serious cray cray going on. I want to write an open letter to the parents of children who steal eggs from little kids and practically run them over. IT’S AN EASTER EGG HUNT, FOR GOODNESS’ SAKE. But that’s another story for another day.
Afterwards, we showed Henry what was inside and these two pictures happened.
I cannot even handle this face. He just solidified the likelihood of having younger siblings. (Not now, mom. Sorry.)
Henry quickly got the hang of putting the eggs in his bag and we had fun ate all of his tootsie rolls on the way home.
Then, on Easter Sunday, we did the typical Easter bunny fun with Henry’s basket. When he spotted the treats, he literally ran in circles in the living room.
Thomas was the theme this year. (My pre-child self is cringing at all the licensed garbage in our house. But I don’t even care.)
It was all worth it when he choo-chooed all day.
This was the best family photo we got on Easter. Because the men in my family refuse to pose nicely.
The rest of the day was spent eating and hanging with cousins.
And another, far less cray cray, egg hunt was had with a few of the cutest kiddos on the block.

Hope you had a wonderful Easter with family, too!
For now, I’m back to the eggs full of candy. Shhhh…. don’t tell Henry there is any left.

I meant to comment on this the other day but not sidetracked. Those photos of Henry killed me. He is the cutest almost two year old I know! I’m glad you guys had such a lovely Easter and I hope you are feeling better. I hear Easter candy helps. :p
Thanks, friend. I’m feeling a lot better, which I attribute to the candy.
Gah! Your family is so adorable! I love Henry’s little fedora.
Thank you so much. You are too sweet.
Looks like you had a fun Easter. Henry really does have the best expressions. 🙂 Love that you got a family photo too. I’m always too busy taking pictures of the kiddos to remember to get myself in there too.
It’s easy to end up “stuck” behind the camera.
He is the cutest little toddler in the world! Good job making him. MAKE MORE!
OMG that photo! What a cutie!! 🙂 I hope you are feeling better soon — you have my sympathy. I’ve had two sinus infections this year. NO FUN. :/ And I love those green earrings!! Where did you get them?! 🙂
They are from Stella & Dot!
Hope you start feeling better! There is no better way to drown your sickness than with Reeses eggs. No judging here (just extremely jealousy)!
All of the candy is gone.
I don’t know what happened.
I know not what I do.
Look at you with your Easter pics ready and post written already, you’re such a better blogger than I – but of course we already knew this 🙂 Kids make everything so much better! And for now, each year gets better. Henry is too cute! Glad Easter was so late this year so we could have such a fabulous, warm day. (Also, even though Henry did not eat any dinner and was therefore not eligible for dessert, I had to guiltily give him a piece of his chocolate bunny since he had not had any yet and I was about to eat the last of it….)
You are so strict. I don’t make Henry follow any rules on holidays. 😉
Oh, that was Monday night. On Easter his diet was basically all sugar!
Oh good. Making me feel better about my child who’s running on fumes and sugar.
Great pics! Looks like he had an amazing time! And don’t get me started on rude grown-ups and egg hunts. We went to a big egg hunt near us and, in the 0-2 year old section, grown-ups were grabbing handfuls of eggs and stuffing them in their kids’ baskets. If your kid is ONE, he doesn’t care how many eggs he gets (I mean, not that it’s okay to be a jerk at egg hunts if your kid DOES care). I didnt’ even get any pictures from that egg hunt, because all I could see was a sea of grown-up butts.
Preach. I mean, I get that you automatically have the inclination to pick up eggs, even as a parent. But use some self-restraint already.
This kid, I swear. That outfit is the best. I might make Quinn rock a version of it. Happy Easter!
P.S. Antioxidants in chocolate, TOTALLY good for sinus infections. Get well soon!!
Thanks Dr. FC. I need a script for more chocolate. Stat.
Henry certainly looks dashing in his hat. Glad he had a good time. Feel better!
It looks like you had a terrific Easter, Kim. Henry looks adorable and likes he has the time of his life. Great photos!!
So stinking cute!! How is he almost 2!? The Easter bunny is coming our house next weekend because of a tummy virus that won’t go away. Glad you guys had a wonderful Easter!
Looks like you guys had a great Easter weekend! Love the family photo! And did I spy some Stella & Dot green and gold earrings? I have the same ones, if so…. LOVE THEM.
Yep – they are so fun, right?
