Baby, you’re a firework

July 5, 2011 by Kim Woodward

You should know a few things today.

First – I love Katy Perry’s song Firework. It’s my ring tone and pretty much any time I listen to my iTunes, this song is in the mix. It’s my painting anthem. (You are welcome for not taking video of myself singing this while painting.) And I couldn’t think of a better way to title this Fourth of July Post.

Second – I love the 4th of July.

I decided today it is a contender for my favorite holiday. No pressure. Good food. Friends. Sunshine. And fireworks.

We got to see the fireworks right on the Mississippi, and we also got to listen to some live blues (which we look forward to all year).

Hope you had a wonderful 4th. Ryan and I got lots done, and we also took some time to relax.

How did you spend your fourth?

Sounds like you guys had a great weekend full of fun around the whole “getting the house ready for sale” thing. I think this was the most low key 4th we ever have had. I am not feeling great and the whole heat/walking thing does not feel awesome since I am only a week away from d-day. So I am just living up the 4th vicariously through everyone else!

What?! More than Christmas? We had a super busy (and late) Fri, Sat and Sun nights and the weather was crappy, so our day was pretty chill. I did get an iphone. Then we went to the top level of our local metro, where we could see the fireworks from 9 different towns.

Sounds like you guys had a great weekend! You definitely got more done than we did…

We spend Sunday at my aunt’s and J got to light lots of stuff on fire, so he was a happy boy. I got to hang out with my family and stuff my face, my favorite pastime!
