A Christmas wreath trio (Home Depot DIY Workshop)

You already know I’m ready for Christmas. And Home Depot has been feeding the flame with their holiday section and projects. Like this festive Christmas wreath trio. It’s got the barn feeling ready for fa-la-la-la-ing.

You can learn to make your own trio at the Home Depot DIY Workshop on Nov. 21. This is the perfect way to start your holiday decorating and kick off your merriment.

For my version of the project, I wanted to try something a bit different. So I started with three 24 inch wreaths from HomeDepot.com. I chose wreaths with battery-operated LED lights for a little evening glow. (I also bought some of these wreath for the windows of the new house.)

I started by attaching the three wreaths and then added ribbon and holiday trimmings. By this point, I was humming “Deck the Halls.”DIY Christmas trio wreath JOY08

And then I got the crazy idea to add the word “JOY” in the wreaths. This took it to the top of the Christmas spirit-o-dometer.DIY Christmas trio wreath JOY09

The letters were created from circles we cut from bead board panels. I love the dimension – we cut 14 inch circles, which fit perfectly inside the wreaths. I hand drew the letters in pencil before painting them.DIY Christmas trio wreath JOY10

In the evenings, the wreaths glow with twinkle lights. And because they have a built-in timer, the lights turn off after 6 hours and then turn on again the next night.DIY Christmas trio wreath JOY12

This really got me even more in the mood to decorate for Christmas!

The Home Depot offers workshops at all of locations for do-it-yourselfers of all ages and experience levels. Ryan and I have been to several of the DIY Workshops in our area!

And Henry loves the kid workshops every month! He rocks his apron.

At the DIY, DIH and kids workshops, learn how to build décor projects, how to make easy home repairs and how to operate tools through demonstrations and step-by-step instructions.

I’ll be joining my buddies at Decor and the Dog in Bettendorf, Iowa. I am part of their unofficial fan club and plan to paint my face for the occasion. (Kidding.)

You should definitely make it to your local DIY Workshop!

I love the contrasting color of the wreaths against the barn! The Joy sign is just perfection, beautiful!

Thank you so much! There’s something perfectly Christmas-y about a red barn.

Love your festive wreaths! The lights are perfect and love the ‘JOY’ letters in the center! I really like how you used the are to the side of the door to display your wreaths.

Ah look at that little buffalo check bow!! It’s the cutest thing ever. The lighted wreaths were a good idea. They look great all sparkling! Also pretty genius to use bead board to spell JOY. You’re so Christmas and you don’t even know it. Actually you probably do.

Your wreaths are adorable, Kim! I love how you choose to focus decorating on the center of the wreaths.
