Last year, our daughter received a play kitchen for Christmas. My favorite part – it’s a stylish play kitchen that my kids also love. A year later, this is still one of our kids’ favorite things, and it’s played with every single day by our 2-year-old AND our 7-year-old.
There are tons of play kitchens available. But if you are like me, you want it to look good. If the kitchen is going to take up valuable real estate in your home, you want it to fit in with the decor you’ve chosen instead of sticking out like a sore thumb. (I’m looking at you, plastic play kitchen.)

There are lots of ways to DIY a play kitchen to fit your decor. If you search on Pinterest, you’ll find so many beautiful ideas. The sky is the limit. But when I was shopping, I was pregnant and not at all looking for a big DIY project. And honestly, with the options available, you can find something you love without tons of extra work.
Last year, I narrowed it down to a few non offensive options for stylish play kitchens – and ended up choosing the play kitchen and refrigerator above from the Hearth & Hand Collection by Chip and Joanna Gaines through Target. (It’s available this year, too.) A year later, it’s taken up permanent residence in our main living space. My daughter loves to make me coffee, bake cookies, and make me plates of interesting food combos in her own kitchen. We did lose a door (which I replaced with a super cute checked curtain under the sink), but I still love how it looks a year later.
In fact, it competes with my kitchen for cutest cabinetry in our home.
This year, I think there are even more awesome options for beautiful play kitchens – at any budget. Even though I’m not purchasing this year, I thought I’d share a few of my favorites for your shopping lists. If you are looking for a wonderful Christmas gifts that kids will love all year, I think a play kitchen is the way to go. And all of my choices are under $200. (Some well under $200.)

And if you are finding such a great deal on one of these play kitchens for Christmas morning, don’t forget a few well-chosen accessories. That’s what make these truly shine. Here are a few of our favorites. (Yep. We own almost of these – with a few more on the way for Christmas. The best thing is that everything can easily be tucked away in your play kitchen for storage.)
