If I have to do laundry, I may as well have a practical and pretty space. Right?
You may remember that we’ve been working on a little mini upgrade to our laundry room in the barn. The space is TINY, but we have a washer and dryer and a nice big window, so there was potential.
One thing I needed was a spot to store the laundry stuff – detergent, dryer sheets, bleach … it all needed a home. But there was only a narrow spot next to the washer – about 10 inches wide.
When I saw this great slim laundry cart from Infarrantly Creative, I knew it’d be perfect for the spot. Spoiler – it really is perfect.
We had to adjust the dimensions slightly and didn’t add the sides to the top shelf to allow for it to easily fit my detergent and bleach, but the instructions were quick and simple for Ryan.
After he assembled it (which took less than an hour), I got to work painting.
I started with Behr Ultra White semi gloss paint and then added a cute series of stripes to the front (in Behr seared gray like our built in shelves).
Then, to add some durability to the shelves, I added a bit of chevron shelf liner. I think it adds a little cute factor. And now I have the perfect spot for all our laundry stuff. The middle shelf holds tins for spare change and lint. And there is plenty of room to add more cleaning supplies or other stuff that comes along.
And the best part is that it has a super slim profile that slides out of the way.
It tucks away neatly when it’s not in use.

Loved the convenience of Beckie’s shelf, so glad you were able to make some adjustments and make it work for your home. Love how you painted yours. We totally need to have more storage for change and lint– off to go hunt down some cute storage containers!

Don’t we all need lint storage? 😉
