You must:
- Read about the risk of lead poisoning to children at His and Hers. This article started a bit of a chain reaction at our house. We’ve fixed up and painted some doors and trim that were chipping. We prepped and painted the back porch. We had Henry checked for lead. Thank goodness his levels were normal. But, I truly recommend you read this article if you are a parent, and particularly if you are a DIYer. It opened my eyes.
- Upcycle a leather belt for herb labels like these at Chris Loves Julia.
- Check out this awesome big boy room at Maybe Matilda.
- Build a restaurant high chair like this at The Friendly Home.
- Make some fun felt magnet fishies like these at Ten June.
- Find yourself some old chippy church chairs to paint like these at Primitive and Proper. I actually picked up eight at an antique store in June so I may have my next project.
That’s all for now, friends. Carry on.

Love this roundup! I want those chairs so badly!

Love your roundups so much! We thankfully don’t have to worry about lead in our area and with the ages of our homes, but Mr. B’s uncle works in lead testing out east and it can be terrible. Such an important issue to know about and handle.

Thank you so much for sharing the lead poisoning post…the more people who read about it, the better! Have a great weekend!

I love your roundups! That lead paint post is NO JOKE!
Jess @ Little House. Big Heart. says
I don’t even want to think about the lead in the Little House. Having been built in 1940, it’s probably full of it. We’d better get to painting before we decide to start trying!

We are getting Reagan checked for lead tomorrow. Thank goodness we aren’t actively peeling paint away in our house. I had the oppurtunity to conduct lead testing in college and the amount of lead in the houses in our area was jaw dropping!
