Living room Christmas trees and holiday decor

December 12, 2012 by Kim Woodward

Last year, I gave away several of the trees I had been storing. The ones that I didn’t love. And yes, I have enough Christmas trees that I can give away several. The plan was to buy a really nice slim tree for the living room on sale. Well, I never found that tree. So, instead I decided to put up the set of three alpine trees I had in the basement.

(Aren’t you impressed by the pretty stars forming around the lights? Thanks to my friend Chelsea for the tips on photographing my trees.)

These trees actually fit perfectly in this little alcove near the fireplace and staircase. I ended up using red poinsettias, tulle and red wood beads to decorate. Then, I added all of our special ornaments. I love how it lights up the corner and that I can see it from outside, too.

I may still find a new tree for future Christmases, but I’m happy with this setup for now.

Oh, and there’s my silver tree in the background. Yes. I love my Christmas trees.

A few other pictures of the living room, you say? Okay …

We are feeling sufficiently festive around these parts.

I’m loving all of your trees!

And your whole house is so darn festive! It amazes me that you have time/energy to do all of that! (I can barely get up enough energy to decorate my fireplace!) I bet Henry loves all of the lights and colors!

LOVE your entry way. I’m a big fan of wreaths on the inside of doors. I mean, how else can you enjoy them? Also madly in love with that massive chalkboard in your kitchen. Ever since I painted a door in our house I’ve been dreaming of more chalkboards. It’s a sickness.

I love that you have Christmas tress just laying around. I don’t think you have hoarding tendencies at all. Nope.

Your house is beyond festive and cozy.
