My most recent baby quilt was a gift for my lovely friend and hairstylist, Kacey. I’ve known Kacey and her family for a very long time, since we were both kids. So, when I found out she was expecting, I was excited to make another baby quilt in black and white for the baby-to-be.
It’s the same style as the primary color quilt I made for Addy. The fabrics are part of the Moda Half Moon line. (I also added some others that I picked up at the fabric store.) I love that they are really fun and modern and even had some prints with scissors!
And here’s the mom-to-be with the quilt. (Isn’t she so darn cute?)
What do you think?

Please tell me how much fabric to buy. Did you use a pattern? What is the name of it? Thx
Hey Kim! What is the name of the quilt so I could find a pattern? I want to make a quilt for my daughter since she’ll be moving up to a toddler bed soon!
Hope you’re enjoying little Henry!
Love this color combo! And since babies can only see in black and white in the beginning, it makes the perfect toy as well. Style and developmental appropriateness….who knew you could do both?
ahhh that’s adorable!! when in the world do you find time to make all of these beautiful things??? lovely!
great job!!! very cute and trendy.
I love the quilting!! You did such a great job!!
It looks fantastic! I can’t believe you have time to quilt and renovate a whole house at the same time! You amaze me! What a lucky Momma & baby!
This quilt is to die for. To die for!
I love it, as always!!!
Two thumbs up for the B&W quilt. I’m normally not a fan of quilts in general but the black and white steps it up a bit, I like iT! How’s that for a compliment, haha.
Oh and you do know that B&W is pretty much all babies see for months, right? So pretty much, your quilt will be the only thing that interests that baby for a really long time. That should make you feel pretty special 🙂
I love how sophisticated it looks. I see a lot of parents don’t want a lot of “baby looking” stuff laying around. When I make quilts I always try to pick fabrics that can grow with the kid at least through toddler age. I need to start one this weekend.
I love it. Where do you find the time? Such a talented one you are!
Ok whennnnn do you have time to renovate a house, quilt, blog AND be as adorable as you are?? FOR REAL?
i just LOVE it!
my favorite fabric is the black and white polka dot.
simple beautiful kim!
Kim! How baby chic! You have an extraordinary gift! These quilts are one-of-a-kind treasures! I’m thinking about getting knocked up so you can make me one. On second thought…
Much love!
What a beautiful quilt! It’s fabulous, you did an awesome job!
Kim, this is beautiful! My favorite baby quilts are the ones that don’t scream “baby”. It’ll be something that can grow with a child for a long time. Great job!
I love it! I love the black and white… My sister would love it too. She loves black but says it’s really hard to find anything black for babies. It’s a great look and she can use it forever and ever. You did a fantastic job!
Very cute. 🙂 Love the black and white theme 🙂
I love it! The black and white is so modern. And Kacey really is a darling mom-to-be!
It looks great. The style of the quilt matches so perfectly with the fabrics. Love! Also wanted to let you know that you have inspired me to do a quilting project! It is just a table runner this time around, but that means I am almost done with it!! I will have to post when I am all done.
Wonderful job!
I hope I can get that good at quilting someday!

It’s lovely!!!! I’m usually not a huge fan of quilts because the crazy colours make my head spin, but this monochromatic quilt is fantastic! Well done! Very impressive.

It’s beautiful! You’re really quite talented with quilting.
I think it’s gorgeous, and I think you have a very special talent. 🙂 I love the black and white…that would be so pretty with yellow, green, pink….Hope you put a cute tag or something on the back so the baby will know who it’s from when she gets older!
Wow! It is beautiful. The black and white is so classic. I have always been intimidated my quilting.
