When you have a boy, it can be a challenge to find holiday shirts that are fun but not cheesy, cute but not girly, good quality and affordable. And in some cases, it’s an impossible challenge.
That’s why I like to make Henry shirts for the holidays using my Silhouette. I can use shirts we already have and it’s quick and simple. Plus, I control everything. (Mwahahahaha)
This newest shirt was inspired by a ladies’ version at a local store, Black Sheep Clothier.
When they posted it on Instagram, I knew it would be perfect for my little dude, who really is a professional hugger. (He recently made it out of the minor’s.)
If you have a Silhouette Portrait or CAMEO (and you should), it’s quite simple to create any design you’d like. (Just make sure to reverse the image before printing.)
Because I love you and can’t give every single of you a hug, I’m sharing this simple design for you to make your own shirt. (Because some of you tell me that the Silhouette software is a bit of a learning curve. Just download the design and cut it on your machine with heat transfer material.)

Here are the supplies I used for this project:
- Silhouette Portrait
- Silhouette blade
- Red flocked heat transfer
- Unisex American Apparel 3/4 sleeve raglan shirt (my very favorite shirts for Henry)
- Iron and cloth to press the heat transfer

I LOVE this! I despise all of the “heartbreaker” shirts they have for boys for Valentine’s Day. This is perfect!

You totally nailed the “cute but not girly” goal! My husband and I have been saying for the longest time that our son needs a “saving the world one hug at a time” shirt. I need to do it for my professional hugger. 🙂
