Okay, this whole week has pretty much been barn updates.
I could have put them all together. But that would have gotten long and it would have felt even more scattered than usual.
Plus, it’s fun to share a new update every day.
Right?
Right?
AM.I.RIGHT?
Okay then … We have a fridge.
When we planned this kitchen, I made it clear that a mini fridge just simply wasn’t going to cut it.
I could compromise on a dishwasher. But I needed our food. All of our food.
And our fridge is always full, so I didn’t want to downsize and regret it. Then, our friends renovated their kitchen and were able to install a larger fridge. So this LG number was up for grabs.
And grab I did.
It is a bit more petite than the ginormous versions out there nowadays. But, I was sold on the bottom freezer drawer and the pre-loved price. So, we’ve been storing it in our parent’s barn since last fall. Now, it’s found it’s home.
My brother and Ryan did not have an enjoyable time getting it upstairs at the barn. This sucker is heavy. But, it’s here and it’s lovely.
It does block a lot of that pretty barn wood wall, but it’s worth it for our food, right? And there will be plenty more barn wood to see around here.
For now, we’re enjoying ice cold water from our fridge.
Life is good, friends. Life is very good.

Yeah food! The fridge looks great. I don’t think you’ll regret having a big fridge. With each post I become more and more obsessed with the barn!
Katrina says
The fridge is fab and the perfect size!! Doesn’t feel big by any means at all – yay for the freezer on the bottom, one of the best inventions ever right! 🙂
Kim Woodward says
I’ll never go back to a “regular” fridge.
Ashley@AttemptsAtDomestication says
That’s a good lookin’ fridge! Good call on going full-size. A family has got to have its food!

How marvelous to have a full-sized fridge. Our neighbors gave us a fridge with the freezer on the bottom and I really like it better than our side-by-side. Enjoy!
Kim Woodward says
I’ll never go back – love the bottom freezer.

I still think it’s so cool that y’all are doing this. I definitely would have to have a full size fridge. It’s lookin’ good, girl!
Faith@The Stirring Place says
we have a bottom freezer too and i love it.
good choice about sticking with a full-size fridge. not having adequate cold food storage could make things crazy…especially with a toddler. bravo mama

Kim now that I see the full pics, what if you wrapped the black side in barn wood? I know it seems weird but maybe a not-so-permanent adhesive in case you really hate it.
Kim Woodward says
I’m not 100 percent opposed to the idea, but we really do use that for magnets, so I’m not sure it’s the most practical. We are going to install barn wood shelves, so I’m going to wait until we see how that looks first.
Amber @ Wills Casa says
Yes you are right spread them out and keep them coming! Pre-loved price is the best use of words I’ve seen on the internets this week. Congratulations you win.
Kim Woodward says
Thank you, thank you.

Move-in not more-in!

Just one more addition getting you closer to more-in!!! Can’t wait! Looks great!

Whoo! Yes, a full sized fridge is a definite necessity. I feel like we already go to the store practically every day; with a tiny fridge I’d need to be there every hour on the hour.
linda says
can you put some magnets on some barnwood planks and make the side of the fridge blend in a bit more? By putting wood on the side it would look lovely
Kim Woodward says
Thanks for the idea. I’m not sure it’s the most practical because we use that space for magnets, but it’s worth considering.

Catching up on all your updates…. and I’m feeling a little envious. What a cool space!
Sara says
I love the almost daily barn updates! 🙂
Also, I have that exact same fridge and love it. It’s the smaller size like yours because our house was built back in ’82 and the location of the fridge is small compared to newer spaces, as you stated and we found out when looking. I will never love a fridge with a top freezer. Due to the pull out freezer bottom I love that I no longer have to almost sit on the ground to clean out the bottom portion of the fridge, it’s already at waist level! I may still be a young 32, but I don’t want to crawl around on the floor if I don’t have to. 😉
Kim Woodward says
I totally know what you mean. I’d never go back from a bottom freezer. So handy.

Yes, daily updates are very appreciated! Seriously, I smile . . . big . . . when I see there’s a new post on your blog. LOVE the barn! And I think you were very wise to install the full-sized fridge. Progress! Looking good!
Jenn @ HomeStyleReport says
Yay! When we redid our kitchen, the new fridge was my favorite update. I will never willing purchase another freezer on top fridge!
Sarah says
Glad our fridge found a new home with good people!
Kim Woodward says
Come over and grab a drink out of the fridge anytime.
Dawn says
Is it a sure sign of getting older when you are jealous of someone’s sweet fridge? If so, I’m totally guilty. 🙂 Love following along with all the barn projects! Have a great weekend, Kim!
Kim Woodward says
Thanks, Dawn. You are always so encouraging.
cassie says
YES- totally a necessity because when i come visit i need to stock up in ice cream and beer

So, when shall I have your bed ready? Or, maybe a blow-up mattress? Not much space for beds around these parts.
