Chalk paint end table updates

May 7, 2013 by Kim Woodward

Another quick update for our living room since adding our new sofa. It was time to make a quick change to the end tables (well, one end table and one ceramic garden stool). My mother-in-law had a quart of Duck Egg Blue Chalk Paint that I used for a quick spruce-up.

I love the color. And the paint went on really, really quickly and dried so fast. It was also my first time using wax, which went on pretty easily and left the wood and ceramic with a nice finish. I didn’t choose to do any distressing.

It was a nice way to pull some more blue into the living room. That’s what I call an easy update.

What do you think of my “new” end tables?

For some reason, in my head this room is red & has dark undertones, so imagine my surprise to see it all pulled together and it’s light & bright and reminiscent of a coastal cottage. Looking good!

I can’t even tell you how much I love this room! The softer colors are so nice in there. And I love the ‘new’ end tables! It’s amazing how just a quick coat of paint makes such a big change. It’s looking amazing, and I’m still so in love with the table Ryan built for you. Give him a high five from me 🙂
