Well, net friends….
I know you will be disappointed in me. But, I must come clean…
Day 7 got the better of me. I ate something that is strictly prohibited in my Kim cleanse.
There really is no justification. I was tired, a little cranky and hungry… very, very hungry. I had precious little time before I went to class. The thought of eating vegetables, beans or brown rice made me feel like throwing up. Did I mention I was cranky?
The next thing I knew, I was here…
ordering a McChicken sandwich.
I know, I know…. I feel your scorn. Or, is it pity?
Either way… I’m not going to beat myself up over it. I had a great 7 days, and I’m gonna pick up what’s left of my pride and finish up the last three days of my cleanse. I had a great run and I’m still proud of the change I’ve created in my eating habits. Regardless of a momentary lapse of judgement, I’ve done good.
And, the truth is… my normal will power wouldn’t have even gotten me this far. So, I’m getting better!
On a side note:
Although, as if to teach me a lesson, I felt physically ill after eating that sandwich. My stomach felt terrible. I felt like the guy on “Super Size Me” with the scent of grease coming out of his skin.
So, perhaps it was meant to be. It made it abundantly clear that the food I was eating was only doing harm to my body. And, it also made it clear that I was only eating it to fill an emotional need and for convenience (am I starting to sound like Oprah yet?)
But, to the good news:
The best part of my cleanse so far is that I have really enjoyed the fruits and vegetables. I think this will carry over into A.C. (after cleanse). I feel less weighed down after snacks and meals, and that feels good.
So, the moral of the story is – I’m human. I didn’t quite complete my plan, as described. But, I’m okay with that. And, pretty thrilled about what I’ve gotten out of the process.
So, for those of you who asked how I could do it, now you know that temptation and real life got me off track, too. I just felt that I had to be straight with you.
But, it isn’t going to stop me from moving forward.
Added note: I’m still holding steady at 7 lbs lost, for anyone that’s interested. I guess the sandwich didn’t kill my progress. And 7 lbs in 7 days is nothing to sneeze at.

7 lbs in 7 days is AMAZING! Don’t beat yourself up for having a moment of weakness, I’m sure it had little to no effect anyway.
I don’t eat McDonald’s, but whenever my husband does he always complains of having a “McStomach Ache” and the “McShakes” afterward. lol.

I love french fries, I admit it. When I lost 35lbs my senior year of high school/1st semester of college, I didn’t eat fast food for 6 months. YES, 6 MONTHS! When I caved, I ate a biggie fry.
Then, I was in the bathroom sick for the rest of the day. No kidding!

7lbs in 7 days?!?! Good job! One “bad” meal is totally acceptable in my book.

Oh honey, you’re stronger than I am! You’ve done awesome. 7 lbs in 7 days? That’s amazing. I’d have eaten a biggie fry on top of the sandwich, so you’re golden.

I couldn’t do it. I have tried before to do the same thing. I only ate food that “came from the ground”. If it wasn’t in it’s natural form – I didn’t eat it. The first day went great – the second ok – the third… well – let’s put it this way, I love McDonald’s still. I’ve instituted the rule at our house that we eat a ‘protein’ and 2 vegetables for our dinners. Mac was way more receptive to that than “no more carbs” LOL.

9 servings of fruits and veggies each day is hard – you deserved that McChicken…btw, did you get through your 1 week of no sugar?
