In my mind, nothing is more quintessentially fall than pumpkins and mums.
So that’s exactly where I started when I put together our autumn porch. And with just a few fall decor touches from Lowe’s, our front feels perfectly suited to the changing of the seasons – and perfectly suited to welcome guests. It’s packed full of fall porch inspiration. (Click the tags on the image for more details on specific products.)
All those stairs were begging to be filled with pretty fall items. Going beyond just the front door is a fun way to boost the curb appeal factor.
I stopped by my local Lowe’s store for some new additions – and it was a great way to refresh what we already had.
My favorite finds this year are these great rusted Jack-O-Lanterns from Lowe’s. They’d be adorable filled with candles – but they are equally lovely with a pot of mums placed inside. (There are also two sizes – large and small. I couldn’t choose so I ended up with both.)
I loved mixing up all the colors of mums, too. Purple may not seem like a “fall color” – but it feels perfectly at home amid the oranges and yellows and reds. I had to restrain myself from bringing home every color from the garden center.
I also picked up this little milk can for the top of the stairs – a great way to add some height and display another Cinderella pumpkin in peach.
By squeezing in more pumpkins and mums on the stairs, it fills the space up nicely and makes it feel extra festive. There can never be too many pumpkins and mums. (I may have asked Ryan if we should go back for more.)
Our rocking chair also got a fall refresh with a new fall pillow – the burlap design is perfectly at home here and will be until Thanksgiving.
And you can’t forget that fun new door mat. I layered it over the old mat and I think it gives it a better presence.
The HARVEST sign was a DIY barn wood project of year’s past. And I just stacked up pumpkins on the flower pots adoring the doors. Easy peasy.
There’s something so sweet about a fall porch adorned with pumpkins and mums. Decorating the front porch is probably one of my favorite areas to decorate. And this seasonal setup makes me smile every time I pull up the driveway.
I guess that means it’s welcoming to me and everyone else who visits.
Don’t forget about me and that pumpkin-sized bump. We are feeling right at home on the front porch. I’m most at home among the pumpkins and the mums.
