Spring has officially arrived.
That may mean it’s going to rain for at least the next month in the Midwest. But there are daffodils. And some open windows. And random sunny days. And the chance to decorate the house for a new season. (You already know I believe in the power of seasonal decorating.)
So life is good. Rainy. And good.
I’m a bit of a holiday traditionalist. A literalist. When Easter and spring are here, there are eggs and pastels and bunnies. So for now, we’ll enjoy the little burst of springtime inside.
I swapped out the mantel for some lighter decor – including the DIY sign that hung in our last bedroom and some lovely green candle holders I picked locally on clearance.
The rest of the living room just got a little lightening and brightening.
And dining room also got a little springtime boost.
I like confining some seasonal decor to the tray on the center of the table. Nothing fancy, but there are eggs and flowers and a bunny. So, we passed the Easter test.
The kitchen got a few touches of spring, too.
It’s simple, but I guess that’s the point. Simple and pretty.
And of course fresh flowers are a must.
And the open shelves got a hefty dose of springtime. This is one of my favorite areas to decorate in the new house. There’s plenty of space – which is fun and sometimes a challenge.
Even the bedroom got a little touch of spring – I changed out the bedding and added some boxwood wreaths under the windmill.
And that’s how I added a little touch of spring to our home.

It looks great! I love the Easter tray and the mantel. I think spring decor may be my favorite (even over Christmas. Shhh – don’t tell!) Love this!

Last week I switched out our ‘fall/winter bedding & down comforters’ to the ‘spring/summer lightweight quilts’ – washed and put away the flannel sheets & remade the beds with summer weight cottons. After that chore was done, I made the semi-annual winter clothes/summer clothes closet swap. Whew – glad this only has to be done twice a year ! And even more glad that I have only two bedrooms that get this semi-annual renovation. Simple changes make a world of difference.

The changes to the master bedroom are on point! I love the decor behind the bed paired with the bright bedding! I need to drag out my Easter stuff this weekend…I decided to treat myself to a new tablecloth a few weeks ago at Home Goods, I need to finally get it on the table!

Love it Kim! I was reading this and realizing my spring decor is seriously lacking. I’ve got one “Happy Easter” banner on my fireplace. Sigh. But, we have the same bedding 🙂 Though I put mine on last Fall and we had to layer two duvets under it all winter to keep warm — using it as Spring bedding is a much better idea!
