Last week, I shared the tablescape we created for my parents’ anniversary party. It was full of photo memories and was such a special way to celebrate 35 years of marriage.
Now, I’m back to share a few other ideas to decorate at an anniversary party. (Although I think these ideas would also be great for other milestone moments – think birthdays or retirements. Or holidays. Or any random Friday.)
And just like last week, these ideas are all about photos. Because after 35 years, photos are aplenty. And there’s nothing more fun than going through all the old photos to find the gems.
On the island, I set up a display with a few coordinating photo gifts – including another photo cube, candle and a beautiful photo tray.
Then we added a customized cutting board – which doubled as a beautiful way to serve cheese and crackers before dinner. Nothing fancy. Ritz and cheddar. I’m so fancy … (Wouldn’t the tray and cheese board be an amazing wedding gift? I seriously want a set for myself for entertaining.)
But the showstopper was definitely the Gallery Collage Table Runner. This runner had room for a whopping 36 photos and was so much fun to create!
My parents couldn’t stop talking about all the photos we found and displayed there. It’s still on their dining table – and I think it will a conversation starter for years.
I also created a coordinating display for gift/cards. The large framed Pictogram print coordinated with the other elements and was great for decor and as a gift after the party. (The best part – you can choose the color mat, frame and all the photos.)
Another thing we did as part of the celebration was hire a local photographer (at the very last minute) to get some photos of all of us together.
I’m so happy we did this instead of trying to take photos with a tripod and remote. We never get group photos and this was a great opportunity to get some up-to-date photographs of our family.
And I especially like this photo of my parents – after 35 years of marriage, they are still happy and in love.
There’s something about photographs – they capture moments we may have forgotten. (And short shorts. We’ll never forget the short shorts.)
These photographs helped to make the entire party about my mom and dad. And it was pretty simple to create customized displays. I really love that the party decor became special treasures for my mom and dad to display.
I know these gifts will be enjoyed for many years to come.
