Painting continues in the new house. Which means it’s looking more and more like a house. Which means I’m getting more and more anxious to move in.
Typical.
The bedrooms are not huge, but have 12 foot ceilings in some spots. So I’ve been up and down on scaffolding trying to cut in the ceilings. (All the ceilings were sprayed.)
I thought I’d swing by with details about the paint colors chosen for the three bedrooms. In the end, we ended up with three of my most favorite paint colors – these tried and true colors are sure to be great choices in our new home. And while I know people like changing things up, I sort of like to stick to some of my favorite wall colors. This way, I know we’ll be able to live with the colors. (Because I don’t often repaint.)
First up – the extra bedroom. I chose one of my favorite gray paint colors – Behr Dolphin Fin. This is the same color as we painted our entire barn apartment. It’s a perfect, light gray and we had a gallon leftover from my days on the Behr DIY Expert team.
Next up is Henry’s room. He was pretty insistent about having blue walls, and had picked up about 15 paint samples at Home Depot on his own accord.
In the end, we agreed that Behr Seared Gray was a great choice – it’s actually more of a navy than a gray. It’s very dark, but I love how cozy the room feels with the deep color on the walls. Plus, Henry loves it and we already had a gallon of the paint on hand from our laundry room project when I was a Behr DIY Expert. So, win win.
Finally, our bedroom – I actually picked up two gallons of paint in another color on a whim and then went back to my favorite bedroom color. The same color we’ve had in our last two bedrooms. I’m really surprising like that. It’s Restoration Hardware Silver Sage.
This is a beautiful color in person – a perfect mix of green and blue and aqua and gray. It is really lovely. I get a lot of questions still about this color. If you don’t have a Restoration Hardware nearby for a swatch, head to Lowes. They have this color in their system and can color match it to any paint.
Nothing too crazy – but what do you think of our color choices?
