Super simple “Give thanks” hostess gift

November 25, 2014 by Kim Woodward

There’s still time for those last minute Thanksgiving crafts and hostess gifts. As I was putting together the thumbprint platter I shared yesterday, I also wanted to assemble a SUPER SIMPLE hostess gift.

It starts with a burlap bag I picked up at the craft store for less than $2 with a coupon. Then, I printed give THANKS in a  Word document, sized to fit the front. I folded the paper and then slid it into the bag.

Magic! You can see the words through the bag – built in template.

Instead of messing with paint, I used a fabric paint marker (magical). I just used the words as a guide and traced them.

Bing. Bang. Boom. We pulled out a piece of tissue paper, and it’s the perfect bag for a bottle of wine or champagne.

And think of all the possibilities – you could write any message for any holiday. You could make it a birthday gift bag. Or just make one for any day. I won’t judge. Wine is good for any day.

I love me a simple burlap project! I can whip one of these puppies up two minutes before leaving the house! My brain is swirling with burlap tracing ideas. Great work Kim!

I was the lucky receiver of this bag! Isn’t it the neatest thing you’ve ever seen? And she did it in 10 minutes! Thanks to our loving daughter for another awesome gift. Looking forward to your return to sunny Arizona!

Kim, this is fantastic and so easy. I can see putting the family name (host) on the bag. The skies the limit!
