Maybe everyone already know this.
But, I didn’t until Henry’s party when I was frequently lost in the depths of Pinterest.
YOU CAN PRINT ON BROWN PAPER BAGS.
Honestly. Mind. Blown.
I honestly didn’t think it was going to work. Because I’m optimistic that way. So I didn’t take any pictures of the process.
But I basically followed the instructions from This Swell Life.
- I actually designed the Corny Cornpicker logo in the Silhouette studio and then used a screen shot to get it into Word.
- Once my design was done, I adjusted the size of the print area to 6×10 inches. (If you use a different size bag, just change the dimensions in page layout.)
- Then, I tested it by running the bag through the inkjet printer with the back flap taped down. (For some odd reason, I ended up having to rotate the design to get it to work right. I think it just depends on your printer.)
Bing. Bang. Boom.
I cannot even tell you how much joy these bags brought me. (I also can’t even tell you how much printer ink I used. Too. Much.)
But I think the bags brought joy to others, too. (My Aunt Ellie wanted to be the popcorn model. Love her.)
Since I have about 500 bags leftover, I think i’ll be printing more in the future. Such a cute and simple way to bring your paper bags to the next level.
Am I the only person who cares about bringing paper bags to the next level?

SO SO Cute! who knew?! I didn’t. But I do now. And I happen to have a hoard of brown paper bags. I know what’s in my future 🙂

This is such a great project. I love using paper bags. I bought a stack of them for B’s first birthday. I use them every year and I still have some left. Talk about a thrifty idea 🙂 Love that you printed on them!

I loved this, such a cute idea. I think this would be cute to print a recipe on the sack for Christmas cookies. Can’t wait to try this .

Just found your blog and love it! I was actually crying ( with laughter) while reading about “gunny sacking”. I love the bags and think it’s about time to bring paper bags to the next level! Wish you could be my best friend:)

Such a cute idea! Admit it, you’re totally going to personalize Henry’s lunch bags at school, aren’t you?

Wish I’d know this when we got married! We had a flavored popcorn bar for our favor and I ended up running out of time and having plain brown paper bags. This would have been perfect!
Kim Woodward says
Well, you will just need to recreate your popcorn bar. That’s the only way.

What a great way to print a few for a special occasion, even for businesses or charitable organizations.

Definitely – and I love the idea of using the personalized bags as luminaries, too.
