If all goes as planned, our house will be on the market in the next month or two. (Fingers. Crossed.) And then our home will become someone else’s home. That makes me immensely happy.
Speaking of our house and being happy, I got our flower pots planted to spruce up the outside. I think the curb appeal is great. (Wanna buy it?)
I am so happy with how well the flower beds look (we planted all the hosts and irises from transplants over the past three or years).
Before and after? Okay. Here’s how it looked when we bought the house in . It’s better, right?
I also planted impatiens in my cans-to-containers on the fence.
And I even made some planters for succulents out of red IKEA lanterns. This planter brings me immense joy.
I also created a few heart and home planters for the porch. I’m sharing them over at the Silhouette Blog.
The great thing is that they’ll be great at our barn, too. So home is where the planters are.
What do you think of our curb appeal?

that lantern as a planter is adorable!!

Thank you! I was pretty proud of myself for thinking of something without the help of Pinterest. (Although I’m sure others have thought of it, too. I rarely have an idea that’s all mine.)

“Home is where the planters are” I lol’d at that but it is so true! We are (fingers crossed) closing on our first house any day now and I just spent time this past weekend digging up the few plants we had and put them into planters to take them with us to our new home. Good luck with the sale!!!
Kim Woodward says
Congrats on your new home – hope closing went well and you are settling in.
