My name is Kim and I have a Christmas tree addiction.
(Hello, Kim.)
I CANNOT STOP PUTTING THEM UP. Once I turn the calendar page to December, I just want Christmas trees everywhere! At some point, Ryan’s going to come home to wall-to-wall trees. For now, I’m settling on four. And they are all so different that I think they (and I) have multiple personalities.
A few years ago, I had had enough of all the trees. So I went through storage and gave 5 FULL SIZE TREES AWAY. Friends, that is not normal. It’s not normal that a person can give away five trees and still have more in storage. (By the way, almost all of the trees were hand-me-downs. My basement is the land of unwanted Christmas decor.)
I thought I wanted to invest in a really nice slim tree instead of having a bunch of older, cheap, scratch-up-my-arms trees. I thought a slim tree would look nicer in our space. But, I hadn’t found that tree. So last year, I put up a set of three alpine trees in the living room. And it was fine, but I didn’t love the look.
So this year, when I received a very generous gift card to Hobby Lobby from friends and saw a beautiful slim tree for 50 percent off, I realized it was clearly a sign. (Dramatic, much?) So, I snatched that puppy up. And I asked a friend if she wanted to use our alpine trees for a Christmas home tour. (She did.)
All that to say, I have a new tree in the living room. And she is a gorgeous, slim little thing. Yes. I’ve been told that she and I have a lot in common. ๐
I thought she was begging to be decked in red and silver. So, I did. I used all the red and silver items I had – with lights in red and white, red berries and faux poinsettias, plenty of tulle and ornaments galore.
And would you even believe that no dog nor toddler has messed with this tree? It’s obviously magic. (Now that I said that, Franco is knocking it over. Remember – I’ve been there before.)
The red tree really glows at night.
While the red tree is really speaking to me, I couldn’t leave it at that. Because my gorgeous silver tree was beckoning. And this tree was to be spiffed up in all kinds of modern glitz for the dining room.
I got the silver tinsel tree at a local department store a few years ago after Christmas. It was the floor model and I’m pretty obsessed with it.
This is the third Christmas I’ve had this tree and I love it more each year. Because it’s made of tinsel, it truly sparkles. All the time. Yes. I know, like me. I get that a lot. ๐
The Noel sign was on our front door last year. But we can enjoy it a lot more on the tree inside!
Moving on to the kitchen … Usually, I have a small faux tree for our kitchen. But this year I was inspired to bring home a rosemary tree from Home Depot. It smells awesome and needed few decorations – just a bell, some felted ball garland and a cookie ornament. I placed the plant in a very generous gift from RedEnvelope. These red stoneware mixing bowls are positively made for our kitchen.ย
And finally, we have the little live tree in Henry’s room. It’s a Frasier Fir and it’s positively adorable. I decorated it with tiny pennants and Henry’s tractors.
I’ve never been sentimental about live trees before. But they really are sort of special. I want to plant an entire field of Frasier Fir trees at our property and start a tree farm.
So that’s my little tour of trees. The funny thing is that every tree feels so different. But they are also very “us.” I think they are special and unique.
What do you think of my multiple personality trees?

I’m glad to know I’m not the only one with an addiction and apparently there is a support group. I’ll probably try to work in two Christmas trees next year without my husband noticing, Love yours they are very inspiring.

Love all of the trees! I really want more! I have 2 right now, but it’s not enough. Ideally I want one for the dining room/kitchen, guest bedroom, my bedroom and the guest bathroom. Jesse is unconvinced haha.

If you’re going to be addicted to something, I Christmas trees are the way to go! Love all your trees….I’d love to do trees in the kids’ rooms, but I’d be committing to three more trees, and I’m not sure I’m ready to go there!

You are hilarious. And a professional tree decorator. Beautiful! And how is it possible that you have ornaments all the way to the bottom?? My Henry thinks they’re balls to be chucked.

I love ALL the trees! I really want a slim tree for the next house. Maybe I can find a deal or be real crazy and actually get a real tree like I say I’m going to every year! Henry’s tree is adorable. I love that you put one in his room.

I love your trees! I was going to set up two this year but ended up giving my second tree to my sister (it’s her first apartment and she needed a tree!). My big question… how in the world do you keep your rosemary alive? My rosemary tree has barely made it two weeks and is not looking so hot :/

they are all so fun! i love each one but henry’s is my favorite!

I was going to call you crazy but I have two big trees and two little trees. Crap, I’m one of you.
Your trees all look so stylish. I’ve never understood how to do the ribbon thing but you make it look so nice. I’ll hire you next year.

I love all of your trees! I want to have a theme tree one day (I did once in college), but I was not ready to buy all new decor just yet. I think you have inspired me to buy a second tree.

You are as gorgeous as your trees! (And you crack me up!) PS Now I want a rosemary tree more! So cute and practical.
