The flowers on our fence have just bloomed beautifully.
These are definitely the best these fence flowers I’ve managed to grow. And every day, they seem to get better. They were so tiny when I planted them, it’s kind of amazing how large they’ve gotten. (Thanks, in large part, to my mother and husband, who watered them faithfully when I was not feeling up to it.)
Are flowers supposed to make me this happy? Because they really do.
In other garden news, our veggie/herb garden is doing really well. We planted 5 tomatoes, 8 peppers (different varieties), 5 basil, 2 cilantro and a few rows of onions. Our new yard doesn’t get nearly the sunshine as the garden at our old house, so I’m thrilled that anything’s growing.
The garden is also not nearly as pretty or neat as our last house, but I’m over it. I’ve got better things to do than weed, and the plants are still growing. So, there.
I believe that fried green tomatoes are going to be in our house very soon. If I have anything to say about it.
I also spied our coneflowers blooming this week. Ryan and I both love these flowers, so we were really happy to see the blooms.

I am so with you….weeds and plants in harmony. Too many other important things to do. And I pretend the weeks are vegetables too. It makes me feel better in a weird way.

Love the flowers on the fence. My garden….not so much. I planted dill, basil, parsley, and cilantro. The basil is the only one surviving the heat. My flowers arent doing well either Sad

Of course they are supposed to make you that happy. ๐

Your flowers look great. Coneflowers are a favorite of mine too.
Our veggie garden pretty much shuts down in summer. Just some sweet potatoes and herbs growing.
Our native flowers don’t mind the heat though.
Stay cool, Momma!

I love the flowers on your fence! Could you please include a quick post on how you made the pots and how they are attached? Just beautiful!

Can you send someone over to water my plants?!? They’re suffering here in the GA heat- I think watering is a full time job in the summer around here. Also- yum on fried green tomatoes!! Have whoever you send to water bring some of those with them- ha ๐
Your yard is looking lovely BTW- I adore the coffee cans on the fence!!

The flowers are beautiful!! They look great in the cans. ๐
Our garden is a bust. The darn dog keeps going in and eating my stuff! She ruined a zucchini plant, and ate half of another one. We need to get some better fencing up.

I’m so jealous you have someone to water your flowers! All my hanging baskets and half my herbs died in the heat with only my husband to watch them – but luckily my tomatoes and surprise pumpkins (the rotten ones I threw in the garden last fall and SURPRISE! are growing!) are still thriving!

Gorgeous! I wish I had your knack for gardening. Coneflowers are some of my favorites – I might news to plant some next year.
