My most recent baby quilt was a gift for my lovely friend and hairstylist, Kacey. I’ve known Kacey and her family for a very long time, since we were both kids. So, when I found out she was expecting, I was excited to make another baby quilt in black and white for the baby-to-be.
It’s the same style asΒ the primary color quilt I made for Addy.Β The fabrics are part of the Moda Half Moon line. (I also added some others that I picked up at the fabric store.) I love that they are really fun and modern and even had some prints with scissors!
And here’s the mom-to-be with the quilt. (Isn’t she so darn cute?)

Please tell me how much fabric to buy. Did you use a pattern? What is the name of it? Thx
The C's says
Hey Kim! What is the name of the quilt so I could find a pattern? I want to make a quilt for my daughter since she’ll be moving up to a toddler bed soon!
Hope you’re enjoying little Henry!
Jenny @ Anything Pretty says
Love this color combo! And since babies can only see in black and white in the beginning, it makes the perfect toy as well. Style and developmental appropriateness….who knew you could do both?

Two thumbs up for the B&W quilt. I’m normally not a fan of quilts in general but the black and white steps it up a bit, I like iT! How’s that for a compliment, haha.
Oh and you do know that B&W is pretty much all babies see for months, right? So pretty much, your quilt will be the only thing that interests that baby for a really long time. That should make you feel pretty special π

I love how sophisticated it looks. I see a lot of parents don’t want a lot of “baby looking” stuff laying around. When I make quilts I always try to pick fabrics that can grow with the kid at least through toddler age. I need to start one this weekend.

Kim, this is beautiful! My favorite baby quilts are the ones that don’t scream “baby”. It’ll be something that can grow with a child for a long time. Great job!

I love it! I love the black and white… My sister would love it too. She loves black but says it’s really hard to find anything black for babies. It’s a great look and she can use it forever and ever. You did a fantastic job!
