The folks at CSN Stores recently asked me to do a review for a product of my choice on their site. (Okay, actually they contacted me weeks ago, but I forgot to respond until recently.)
And, with a new house, who am I to look a gift horse in the mouth? (What does that even MEAN?)
So, I’m looking forward to making my choice and find something to spruce up the house at CSN. But, have you been there? I’m sure you have. I’ve been seeing the company’s name all over the blogosphere. They have everything under the sun. It’s so hard to choose something.
I’m thinking of getting one of the Albert & Dash accessories I’ve been coveting – a pillow, rug or throw. I love them all. Or really, maybe I should put it towards something for the new house – like this kitchen faucet I’m coveting. Or let’s be honest, I could get something that I really need. I only have one lamp in my entire house. It may be handy to have a few table lamps, especially in the office.
What do you think?
Thanks to CSN Stores for offering me this chance.

Lucky! I’d get a rug, we are rugless but lamps would be smart too.

Oh they all sound like great choices and I can’t wait to see what you decide. I am leaning kitchen faucet….but that is just because I would not be able to pick decor for the new place yet….but you may have it all planned out!

“never look a gift horse in the mouth” comes from telling the age (and therefore, strength/years of usability/desirability) of horses by looking at their teeth. if someone gives you something as a gift, you don’t want to immediately go find flaws or vulnerabilities in it. now that most people don’t have horses, the original meaning (though not the sentiment) is kind of confusing. =)

oh, oh!! I JUST learned the horse thing. I guess they used to check the mouths to assess quality, so it was rude to check the mouth of a horse you got as a gift – like you should be happy you got anything so don’t go looking for flaws.

YAY CSN rocks…its always hard trying to decided what to buy! I say go for the Albert & Dash since its “free” its ok to buy something you “want” instead of “need” in my books!

I think it would be funny to “review” a throw pillow. Like um, it sure is square! Just like the website said!
ANyway, I’d go for a lamp because I’m boring and practical. And I like lamps.
No luck on Target ones?

lucky girl! i say choose something very functional and necessary – might not be as fun as a lamp – but probably a longer payoff! ๐
funny you used the horse saying – growing up i always thought it was “never LICK a gift horse in the mouth” – and that means i REALLY didn’t know what it meant! ๐

Love those Dash and Albert rugs – I just read about the guy who started CSN stores in BHG. Very cool.

I’d go for the rug, but that’s just me. ๐
“Gift horse.” I’m not totally sure, but I’m going to go out on a limb and take a wild guess that it refers to the myth of the “Trojan Horse.” ??
Hope you’ll stop by my Giveaway tomorrow from The Shabby Chic Cottage. ๐
