You know those family members that you just feel so happy to be related to…
this would be them. Ryan’s aunt and uncle from Tennessee.
We love them. Like, really really love them.
They made this dip while they were in town. Real, Tennessee dip. (It contains Rotel, which makes it Tennessean to me. I’d never even heard of Rotel until Les and Joanell waltzed into my life.)
Then, Joanell asked, are you going to blog this dip? (Why do you think I love her? She’s like our biggest blog fan. Don’t hold that against her.)
So, I said “of course.”
Tennessee dip
Fry one pound of sausage.
Add 2 packages of cream cheese and 2 cans of Rotel and allow cheese to melt.
Let stand to thicken.
Best served with Ritz crackers (although you can really eat it off your fingers and I won’t judge you. I did it.)

It really was delicious dip. And, so simple. And, it’s fat-free. No it’s not. That’s a lie.
But – I think you should make it. So do Les and Joanell.
You can steal the dip – but don’t try to steal our aunt and uncle. They are ours, and we’d go down fighting.

I have to comment on this even though it’s old. That dip is awesome and everyone should try it! We had it for the first time at a party last year and it is so good on top of a hamburger.
On a side note, I had no idea Rotel was a southern thing. Of course this Southern girl always has it on hand (although sometimes my husband would prefer meals not to be so hot). It’s my shortcut to seasoning, haha!

How is it possible to live this long without knowing about Rotels!! They are a staple in my pantry! 🙂
That dip is AMAZING!!! I could eat it like soup!

Ohhhh, Kim. Next to bacon, sausage in any dish gets my vote. Hmmm, you think corn would jive in this dip? I AM an Iowa girl at heart, you know.
Les & Joanell look like good people!!

Love rotel! My thighs don’t like the words fried and cream cheese, but my mouth does! This sounds so good.
