I’m pretty sure you are going to die when I say this, but I’m going to say it anyway. I’m thinking about Christmas.
It’s a sickness. I love Christmas. But, usually it’s not until after my fall frenzy that I think about Christmas.
Poor Ryan… he just tries to grin and bear it.
But, when I saw these beautiful fabrics by Moda:
(Fat Quarter Shop)
… I decided that it is the perfect color combination for a quilt on our bed… and maybe some matching pillows.
- I didn’t think about the fact that I haven’t quilted since Winter 2007.
- I didn’t think about the fact that last time I quilted, I promised that I’d never do it again (let’s just say that things didn’t go so well)
- I didn’t think about the fact that I rarely have time to clean my shower, let alone make a king-size quilt.
I just thought about how the Christmas bedding didn’t match the room last year and how pretty the browns and blues in the fabrics would look.
Here’s a quilt in this fabric that I came across on Etsy.
*Swoon* I’m sure it won’t look like this…. because this looks really, really good. But, I think I can make the fabric into something that looks presentable.
But, before I made the plunge to purchase the fabric, I decided to ask you folks what you think – would these fabrics look great in our room?
If you say yes, I’m buying them. And, starting a Christmas quilt in August.
(Please say yes.)

I’m guilty of being a year-round Christmas lover too!!
I think that fabric would look fabulous in your bedroom! GO FOR IT!

Shoot, I bought Christmas fabric in June for place mats, a table runner and wall hanging. We should seriously have a quilting afternoon once my wedding is over. You’ll have the Christmas quilt to work on and I’ll have the signature quilt from my wedding (provided I finish all 126 block before the big day so people can sign them in the first place.)

I love quilts! I have no yet learned how to quilt myself, but the fiance’s mom keeps me stocked in quits of all colors and sizes! Love it, I definitely think it would work!

Do it! Camille Rosekelly(sp?) at Simplify has the cutest Christmas quilt that I’m dying to make. We can do it together (except that we aren’t really together and we don’t really know each other).

Love those colors, love those fabrics. Confession: I am sicker than you. I think about Christmas in July. (Hangs head in shame).

Thanks, friends. You’ve sealed my Christmas bed’s fate. I’m buying the fabric –
Jordan – I’m not buying it cause it ain’t cheap – beautiful but not cheap. Plus, I’m thinking I can stretch my sewing muscles a little.
Jordan says
why don’t you just buy that one from etsy? Thats what this non-crafty girl would do 🙂

I love that quilt so much it’s making me want to learn to quilt. I think those fabrics would look fantastic in your room!

Those are great fabrics! And if you started now and kept it simple, you might get it done in time. Not that I should talk, I started a Christmas quilt in 2003 and finished in 2007. opps 🙂

I am ready for Christmas too…so we are both “weird”. I love both the patterns

Yes! And pulling in the blues would make it look more cohesive in the room than last year’s quilt.
Kelly says
Yes! You could almost justify it as a winterish quilt.
Jill says
Yes, definitely! I love the fabrics! They are Christmas-y but not overly so. You could totally use the quilt all winter long!

I think the quilt would be beautiful! I to think about the holidays year round! August first I was very giddy because I knew I had one month to put my FALL decor up!

I vote yes as well! Depending on how east it is for you to make, I might join you in the christmas quilt idea… 🙂

Love those fabrics, can’t hurt to have a king sized Christmas quilt lying around! I think it will look fabulous, but even if it’s not the perfect fit, can a Christmas wedding couple have too many Christmas quilts? I think not.
Emily Ann says
I vote YES, and I see nothing wrong with you thinking about Christmas right now. In fact, I’ve already started my Christmas shopping. 🙂

From one fellow Christmas lover to another. BUY IT!!
LOVE the print! Trying not to click on the link and buy the quilt myself.
