Ryan and I love grilling. We grill all year, actually. Sometimes even when there’s been snow. We’re a little crazy.
But, we mostly grill in the summer. This post is about a recent grilling escapade by yours truly. I was searching for a new way to grill, get extra flavor and use some of our herbs from the deck.
It totally worked! I’ve decided you all must try this meal. You will not regret it. I would take this over a steakhouse any day.
Grilled Steak with Roasted Garlic and Herbs
from here
1 head garlic
3-4 tsp. snipped fresh basil
1 tbsp. snipped fresh rosemary
2 tbsp. olive/cooking oil
Your choice steak
Salt and pepper
1. Remove papery outer layers from garlic bulbs, leaving individual cloves attached to the bulbs.
2. Cut off about 1/2 inch from the top of each bulb and throw away.
3. Place garlic in the center of a double layer of foil.
4. Fold foil up around garlic to form a shallow bowl.
5. Sprinkle garlic with basil and rosemary.
6. Drizzle with oil.
7. Completely enclose garlic in the foil, twisting ends of foil on top.
8. Grill foil packet for 30 minutes, until cloves are soft.
9. Meanwhile, season steaks with salt and pepper and grill.
10. Remove bulbs from foil, reserving herb and oil mixture.
11. Squeeze pulp from garlic cloves and drizzle oil over steak.
This is what my garlic looked like, when I got it out of the grill.
Herb, Onion and Garlic Potatoes on the Grill
Slice up Idaho potatoes and red onion. Add salt, pepper, rosemary, and two cloves of garlic minced. Add approximately 4 tbsp. pads of butter.
Put everything into a double layer of tin foil and grill for 40-45 minutes.
I also served this with corn on the cob on the grill. I just soaked the corn in water for about 30 minutes and then slathered it in butter and salt, rolled it in tin foil and grilled for 30 minutes.
One of the best parts of this is that clean-up is super simple. I’m not a huge fan of throwing away tons of tin foil, but it is nice for clean-up.

Did you know that Rustoleum now makes “High Temperature” spray paint? I am seriously considering painting my grill an almond color instead of the black, but I am just crazy like that.
Your grub looks sooooooo good.

I might have to “break up” with your blog. I’m scared to see what FAB-U-LOUS creation you might have next.
