If you are in the market for a low-fat, low-calorie, I-wanna-get-skinner recipe…this aint it.
Ryan and I are huge buffalo wings fans. He likes his really really really hot. I like mine mild.
But, we both like these simple, yummy, fattening buffalo chicken strips. We tried it for the first time this week. They are truly as yummy as any we get at restaurants. (Ryan even said they were as good as Hooter’s wings!)
We don’t mess with wings. We don’t have time for the bones. So, I bought Aldi’s chicken tenderloins. They are good-sized strips and are in the frozen section.
This was our first time trying to fry meat. It was so simple and so yummy.
So, here is the recipe (I use the term recipe lightly… it’s really simple).
4-6 chicken tenderloins
2 eggs
2 cups flour
1/2 cup Frank’s Red Hot sauce
1/3 cup melted butter
Coat chicken tenderloins in eggs and then cover in flour. Drop into a electric skillet with vegetable oil to fry. Deep fry at 400 degrees for 12 minutes.
When breading is brown and chicken is thoroughly cooked, remove from oil.
In a bowl, combine Frank’s Red Hot sauce and melted butter. Dip chicken tenderloins in mix to cover liberally. The fried covering will pick up the sauce easily.
I know what you’re thinking… I should be a food photographer. I’ve thought of it, too.
Yummmmm…..
Feel free to serve it with cheese-covered fried potatoes, to up the calorie content.

Looks yummy! You could also try the same sauce over grilled chicken. Cut the calories, etc. Probably not as exciting but still yummy!
