Well, I mentioned in my February goals that I want to work on re-discovering my love for fruits and vegetables and cut refined sugars and meat for a week. In actuality, I already started this plan (but it still qualifies for a goal, cause my week wasn’t over yet).
The plan was to cut the crap out of my diet and hopefully refresh my body in the process. I’m on day 5. I actually plan to extend it for at least 10 days.
Since Ryan will be in Texas for three weeks, I decided to use the time to re-evaluate my eating habits. As in, re-evaluating the massive amounts of junk I eat. With that in mind, I decided to try to lay off the refined sugars, meat and caffeine and eat fruits, vegetables, nuts, beans and fish. (I decided not to cut fish because it’s better for me than red meat and I never get to eat it when Ryan’s home). So, it’s kind of a vegan cleanse – plus fish.
A Kim cleanse, shall we say?
My goals: Feel more energetic. Clear up complexion. Sleep better. Learn to eat healthy and enjoy it.
(and I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I’d love to lose a few pounds – but I promise this isn’t my number one goal)
I went and stocked up on the goods last week.
I divided the fruits and veggies into baggies so it will make it easy to put together salads and snack.
(Note: Aldi has wonderful prices on produce right now. I only spent $30 on all of this – greens mix, spinach leaves, roma tomatoes, baby tomatoes, broccoli, celery, carrots, cauliflower, red grapes, strawberries, apples, oranges, pears, peaches and bananas)
I’ll post a little later about how it’s going, so the posts don’t get too long.
