Your home shouldn’t own you.
But creating a space without going broke isn’t always easy.
Do you feel overwhelmed, exhausted, and uninspired to think outside the box and inside a too-tight budget?
Do you feel pressured to fit into a mold or try to recreate the exact (perfect) spaces you’ve seen on Pinterest?
Do you wonder if you even have the creativity or skills to create the ideal home for your family without losing your mind, sacrificing your relationship, or going into debt?
We’ve been there.
A home is more than a roof over your head – it’s the space where you eat your meals, read bedtime stories, and make memories together.
You don’t have to physically build your own home or even complete an expensive renovation to create a home that feels authentic for your family. (And having this perfect space shouldn’t come at the expense of your family or budget.)
I’ve been having a hard time getting into a lot of my go-to blogs because the style is getting so…well…unlivable! You’ve managed a style in your home that is both timeless and comfortable/relatable. – Sarah
Y’all are my house redo heroes. Seriously … your blog inspires me and is so real. – Christi
Imagine looking around your home and feeling completely at ease, content and proud of the unique space you’ve created. Imagine a space that is so personal to your family that they never want to leave. Imagine doing all of this without blowing your budget or driving yourself straight to Crazy Town in search of perfection.
This is your life – renovated.
When you become a member of our tribe, you’ll receive tips and encouragement to create your own uncommon home – and you’ll do it without sacrificing your family or budget.
How we got here
After crossing the threshold to our first home, we took it in – missing walls, graffiti-covered doors, and lots of surprises waiting to be uncovered by two uninitiated renovators. My husband and I turned toward each other with wide eyes.
What had we got ourselves into?
On that first day, we weren’t prepared for strains this first project could have on our confidence, our relationship or our budget. The overwhelm. Exhaustion. The fear of debt. And the nagging thought that maybe we weren’t creative or skilled enough to even DO this.
But 10 years (and five whole-house renovations) later, we’ve developed confidence in our abilities with patience and practice (and a hefty dose of laughter). And we’ve done it together. We’ve finished projects as simple as painting a room and as complex as wiring or plastering an entire house. We’ve done everything as we can afford it – in cash. And we’ve done it our way – even when that looks different than the norm.
And if we can do it? You can too.
