I’m a big dreamer.
I love the IDEA of so many things. But once the idea has played out in my head, I’m on to new BIG AND FUN things.
My husband would tell you that I’m not so great at follow-through.
Case in point: Compost bins.
Last time you saw these, they were so pretty and nice and well-groomed.
Now, they are growing trees inside of them. You think I’m kidding but I’m not. There are TREES growing INSIDE the compost bins. It only took three months. Who knew?
I haven’t put anything in them in over a month. And my husband can do nothing but roll his eyes because I insisted I have these because of all the composting I would do.
I would be so green you’d call me Kermit.
This didn’t happen. But I would argue that the soil must be REALLY fertile and working well composting in there if TREES are growing. Am I right?
And then I realized that there is also a pretty healthy tomato plant. Winning. I’m gardening without even knowing it.
Another case in point: The garden.
Speaking of the garden … I just knew this year’s garden would be better than the last. Because we’re living here so what better things do I have to do than tend and weed and enjoy the garden. Because, duh.
Today it’s known as “It’s a Jungle Out There.” Henry won’t even get near it because he gets lost and we may never find him again.
I know you probably think this means we’ve gotten no great results, but you’d be wrong. We cannot stop getting stuff. Tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, dill, cilantro … And the PUMPKINS. So I’m not too worried. I’m eating my weight in tomatoes.
Except seriously, no magazine spotlights on the garden yet.
Maybe next year?
Lest you think it’s just outdoor-related, I’ll set you straight.
– My car is embarrassingly disgusting and full-to-the-brim at any given moment.
– The drawers with clothes I spent days organizing and folding to look perfect are stuffed full and barely close.
So, this post is really just to set you straight. I’m pretty good at coming up with wonderful ideas. But the follow-through, not so much.
