I’ve been visiting the Lake of the Ozarks with my parents since I was a baby. It’s a summer tradition.
Even after Ryan and I got married, we would try to fit in at least a few days at the Lake.
It was a nice little getaway, even though Ryan had to stay home to work on the house. (Poor Ryan. He has earned a serious vacation for next year. I may even give him a week off projects when it’s done.)
Henry and I stayed with my parents, and the boy was in la-la land. He loves to swim and boat, so the Ozarks are his heaven.
And over the years, the lake has become a real hot spot. With friends, we hit a lot of great restaurants/bars with pools and beaches. I think it was his mission to swim in every pool that exists.
He was also insistent on fishing, until he actually caught a fish and flipped out. “Put it back, papa!” This face is probably the funniest thing I’ve ever seen.
Anyhow, this will be year four of Henry visiting the lake. How is that even possible? (And what is it about being a parent that makes you want to do the same photo in the same spot every year?)
For some reason, I can’t find the same picture from our first year at the lake with Henry, but OMG he was so little and wahhhhhhhhhh – I’m off to a corner to go into the fetal position right now.
My baby is growing up and I’m just simply not ready.
Hope you have a great weekend!
