I love to be invited to gatherings, but I often freeze when I try to think of a dish to bring. I like to bring savory dishes and appetizers (because baking isn’t my forte), but I don’t have many go-to recipes.
Anything involving feta, olives and bread are okay by me. I actually had a recipe from Clover Lane pinned for years, and I just made a few modifications.
Simple Greek Dip
- Olive oil
- 1/2 block feta cheese
- 2 tomatoes
- 1 bunch of green onions
- Kalamata olives
- 1 baguette
- Pour olive oil into the bottom of a pie pan or platter (just enough to generously cover).
- Add diced tomatoes, green onions and sliced olives.
- Top with crumbled feta, oregano and pepper.
- Serve with sliced fresh bread as a dip. (It’s also great with crackers or pitas.)
MyMixx at Jewel-Osco
This is the second week i’ve been planning my meals and shopping from the new MyMixx app with Jewel-Osco. I loved that I could add ingredients to my shopping list on my phone. Having it all in one place is really convenient.
When I check out, I simply gave the cashier my phone number for the additional savings.
I spent about 20 minutes planning meals and perusing the app for coupons and deals (like the sale on fresh-baked bread for this recipe). And I saved $9 from coupons alone. (And for someone who’s never mastered coupon clipping, I was pretty thrilled with that.)
