Today is the perfect kickstart to the holiday season! It’s December, we’re still on a holiday rush for Thanksgiving, and many of us are knee deep in holiday shopping and decorating.
Plus, all of the members of the Silhouette Design Team (including me) are sharing a Silhouette project and holding a GIVEAWAY for Silhouette products. This is the perfect way to get crafting for holiday gifts and decor.
If you are stopping by from by Dawn Nicole, welcome and thanks for visiting! (If you haven’t seen her project, you must stop over and see the tribal-inspired arrow tray and enter to win two rolls of Silhouette stencil material.)
I’m excited to be sharing a fun project with one of my favorite mediums – Silhouette fabric ink.
This is a shirt for my little (terrible) two-year-old. The naughty vs. nice ratio is not always in his favor, so this design was perfect.
Fabric ink is a great way to create a great looking shirt at home. Start with a template in vinyl or stencil vinyl, and apply with transfer paper. Then, using the green fabric ink and sponge, dab the ink over the stencil.
Let this dry for a few hours.
Then, remove the stencil and you’re left with your design.
It’s the simple! A great shirt for my little guy.
And the fabulous folks at Silhouette are giving away the Fabric Ink Starter Kit to one NewlyWoodwards reader. (A value of almost $40.)
The fine print:
- Open to US/Canada Residents, 18 & older.
- Void where prohibited.
- Giveaway is not associated with Facebook, Instagram, or Pinterest. Prizes will be fulfilled by Silhouette America.
- Winner cannot have won another Silhouette America giveaway in the past 90 days.
- Winners should expect their prize to arrive within 4-6 weeks.
Good luck!
Next, stop over to Random Ramblings to see her totally rad vinyl wall clock
and a giveaway of two rolls of Silhouette vinyl.

What a cute shirt! I really need to give fabric ink another go, I think I realized a big mistake that has ruined a few projects of mine. I need to be patient and let the ink dry BEFORE removing the stencil material. I’m always way too impatient to see the results and I remove the stencil material before it’s completely dry. Thanks for the tutorial!
