The Silhouette has made my gift giving even easier (and better) this year. My project was a tote bag I created for a friend who is an expert crocheter.
To make a similar bag, you simply use the same steps as I shared in my fabric ink tutorial last week. I used a simple black tote bag and white and grey fabric ink from Silhouette.
Tip: When using fabric ink, don’t do as I did. Be patient and wait for the ink to dry before removing the stencil.
I used this design from the Silhouette Design Store and removed coffee to replace with crochet. It’s a great sentiment for lots of different interests and easy to change out. (If you are new to the Silhouette, simply right click and ungroup to get the words individually.)
I’m in love with the other projects from my co-hosts: a too-stinkin-baby hat by Maybe Matilda, berry jars from Shift Ctrl ART, my crochet bag, and potpourri and scarf from Decor and the Dog.

My mom needs this. I might change it to say I crochet to keep your head warm…she really just makes hats for everyone. I guess one could say she is protecting our head.
Very cute! Although, crocheting and knitting makes me more tense than normal, so I’m sticking with just chocolate!!
I have never used fabric ink from Silhouette but I really want to. The bag is awesome.
Cute project. I am in NEED of a Silhouette so that I can create beautiful things like this.
I need a cutting machine. My project would have turned out 100 times better (like YOURS) had I used vinyl as a stencil vs paper hahaha. What a great gift my dear!
This is so awesome Kim. I just love that quote. What a fantastic gift for your friend. This bag will definitely be a conversation starter wherever she sits down to crochet 🙂
Very cute! And wise.
Also, I need you to show me something on the silhouette. Don’t let me forget.
HA! that is hilarious!!!!
