Thanksgiving may be tomorrow, but it’s not too late for some fun and quick kids art.
My friend Mel shared this handprint turkey with me and Henry and I made them last week at my parents. This is so simple that many of us may even remember making these turkeys when we were growing up.
Henry loves painting and drawing, and now he calls his hand a turkey. So I think it’s a success. It’s basically just one color per finger with the addition of a beak, eyes, gobbler and legs.
But my favorite part – the saying that my friend Mel shared with me:
This isn’t just a turkey as you can plainly see.
I made it with my hand which is a part of me.
It comes with lots of love, especially to say:
I hope you have a very happy Thanksgiving Day.
Are you crafting for Thanksgiving? This one is simple enough to fit in between all the pie baking you are certainly doing.

So cute!! My kids did theirs at school which I’m infinitely glad about because I love hand print crafts and am absolutely terrified of my kids’ hands covered in paint around the house. I need to get over this because I’m sure the grandparents would appreciate some hand print art.

This is so cute. My little one is only 13 months, and I’m so excited for all the fun art projects in our future! I’m keeping this one in the memory bank.

I love that little Henry nugget. He is too darling! And I see he’s working on developing the little kid cheese smile–very nicely done, Henry. Forrest is an expert, and it brings us mothers such joy to see those cheesy smiles emerge when the camera comes out 😉
