This summer couldn’t have arrived a moment too soon. We all needed a lot of Vitamin D after this winter. And this summer is really special for me, because it’s my first as a work-at-home mom. I love the flexibility this change has brought our family. I can truly work from anywhere.
A few weeks ago, Ryan was traveling for work. So Henry and I packed up and went to the lake with my parents for almost a week. (And they actually drove him there so I didn’t have to do it on my own. Win)
My folks have a condo right on the water for the summer and it’s the perfect place to relax. Mostly because I’m with my parents. But also because it’s the lake.
They picked Henry up a new life jacket (since his one from last year was too small). He was NOT a fan when we first put it on. Then, he realized it meant he got to go IN THE BOAT. And just like that, the life jacket wasn’t that bad. This boy needs to be outdoors. He needs to be in the water. This winter was rough for him, but he’s making up for lost time.
Thomas and James loved the lake, too. Because we were there before school was out and on weekdays, the lake was smooth as buttah. It was awesome. And the restaurants were quiet and the beaches were full of open chairs.
I’m so thankful for my parents – who are always so welcoming to us. And they love their grandbaby so much. (And I’m also thankful that I get to sleep in and finish a bunch of projects on the computer when they are around.)
Oh – and I had to make Henry a shirt for our lake trip – I’m sharing it over at the Silhouette blog today. Hope you’ll go over and check it out.
