Our barn exterior is SO SO SO close to being done. And could it be any cuter?
The solid stain on the barn is holding up really well after almost a year. I finally finished the trim around the large garage door and man door – and now it really looks finished.
Ryan has also been finishing the interior trim throughout the barn apartment. I love how the built-ins turned out.
I’m ignoring the fact that this all has to be painted. Head in the sand. And I can’t make a decision between my split personalities about which color I should paint everything. The trim will all be white. But, I want the area around the cabinets to be the same as the wall color. In other words, I’ll never make a decision.
And Ryan also got one pocket door installed. (This was actually an extra door from our first house.) Still on a search for a similar second door. We see them ALL THE TIME until we need one.
The windows looks so nice when they are trimmed out. They have extra deep sills.
And then there’s all the pretty baseboard trim.
The trim really makes the room look finished. Okay, fine. PAINTING will make the room look finished. Way to rub it in my face.
So that’s our little barn update. It’s moving, friends. It’s moving.

The color is barn red by Behr – it’s a solid stain. Here’s the full post.

OhmyGAH. It is sooo cute. Can I please move in? I’ll wait til you finish your other house, but this is easily the fanciest, most charming little barn that ever was.

Um, it’s paint. Besides that, it’s not that big a space. Just pick a doggone color so we can see it! I have a need to see the finished product.
Whatever color you choose, I’m sure it’ll look fabulous! Y’all have done such a fantastic job and I am slightly envious of your barnhouse.
Was that a typo, or do you really have a “man” door? ;0P
Kim Woodward says
Yeah – the entry door is always called a man door around here. Is that not common where you are? I guess, because a person/man walks through it? 😉

you guys are progressing so nicely! and i love that pocket door- the right other pocket door will come along and your pocket door won’t be lonely anymore.
Trina @ Let's Just Build a House says

I can’t believe this is all coming together, Kim. It seems quick to me, but I am sure not to you. I am always so impressed with your vision and how you carry it out. Can’t wait to see you in it.
