In January, I’ll be spending a little more time away from my computer and iPhone. While I love blogs/Instagram/Facebook, I love my little family a lot more. When Henry was smaller, I would browse blogs and post photos when he was napping or eating. Now that he’s getting bigger, he needs his mom and dad to play with him and give him their undivided attention more than ever. So Ryan and I have decided to spend time “unplugged” each night while Henry’s awake for play and dinner and baths and bedtime. It’s a few days in and I think it’s better for all of us.
It’s a busy work month for me, so I also plan to focus more time on my own well-being this month. I’ll be walking everyday in some capacity and cutting fast food, cold turkey. It was time. I’m also painting my nails, which is a big deal because I’m a nail biter and never bother.

I like this new format–heck, I love pictures of you and sweet H! I agree with your “unplugging”…guess it’s pretty obvious from my blog hiatus. Whoops.
I brought back my monthly to do lists too. I agree that a month is a much more manageable time frame for me than a year as well. I really love the idea of a photo- I may have to steal this as well! haha. Those posts always feel so word heavy. I’ve made it my mission to keep them short and sweet too- 5 things or less!
Your goals are great! I love the unplugged idea- I spend entirely too much time on my phone and laptop.
This is a great list Kim! And you can do it! I quit fast food cold turkey last year for Lent and I dont really miss it. I think I’ve had it (not counting Chick-fil-a) 3 times in the past year and it doesn’t have the same appeal anymore, plus it makes me sick now. Best thing I’ve ever done for real.
I love the new format and the goals. I’m a big fan of walking and it’s so hard in the cold winter months. I also deleted Facebook from my phone and felt so much better! Gotta love fresh starts. Ps. That pic of you and Henry is adorable. I cannot say enough good things a about the ergo.
Totally loving this format because it involves more photos. And I heart photos! I love your plan for the month, too. I’m still trying to figure out the best way to wrap my head around my monthly goals, and I think you’re really onto something with this. And I’ve recently gotten into painting my nails. It makes me feel fancy, which takes some doing since I live in yoga pants outside of the office.
I love this! Elise is one of my favorites too… Good choice
Funny enough? I’ve switched to your style! LOL
i’ve always enjoyed reading your goals (even tho they make me feel spectacularly lazy!) but this is an even better way to showcase them! love it!
Hurray for more pictures! And I love the “unplugging” plan. I’ve been slowly coming to the same conclusion. Better to be fully present with the baby than half-present with the baby and half-present with the internets.
I love the format you are presenting this in, and I definitely love your goals, ehem…I mean “I wills”. I think that we often forget to unplug ourselves from the {cyber}world, and enjoy the real world nowadays. It’s just become the norm because of technology…and it’s kind of sad. So kudos to you for enjoying your family!
Yay Kim! I’m so happy for you – for taking the time to be with Henry unplugged and for what I see as being more intentional with your “I will’s.” I love the new concept! And I’m with you on the painting the nails deal – that made my list of things for January too!
Oh my gosh, get out of my head!! Those are things I’m committing to! I’ve been painting my nails a ton (and I never usually do that), and I was just telling my hubby that our bedroom needs some help. Can’t wait to see what you do.
Good for you Kim! You have your priorities in perfect order. Enjoy your family because time will go by faster than you can imagine!
Awesome. This is such a sweet photo, and I love your plans. Good luck!
i love ALL of the above – the “i will” the visual format & most of all the “unplugged” time… we’re heading there too. so, so important
Excellent. I never make resolutions, because I never keep them. Your new “I will”‘s sound doable and relevant. Good for you!

I’ve been unplugging a little more, and slowing down. I like it.
Good list. I love the painting the nails.
fantastic “i wills”! especially unplugging..
