Life is going so darn quickly. I can barely keep up. Today is the big day for the Dress for Success sign-making workshop. So, just picture me running in circles. That’s probably accurate. 😉
There are lots of other things I haven’t blogged about, so here’s a little glimpse into life happenings.
We took Henry to his first wedding a few weekends back. He was pretty much an angel, which I’m thanking my lucky stars for.
I’m not saying that to brag. I’m just saying it because I was so nervous that he was going to start screaming in the middle of the Catholic mass and I’d be getting those looks.
But, he must take after his daddy, because he fell sound asleep right as the priest began to talk. I would say that this gal’s prayer was answered. Yes, I know there are more important things to pray for. Lay off.
I think it helped that we could plan his bottles perfectly around the wedding and reception, but I truly loved our tablemates (who we just met that night) asking if he was “always this good.” Um, yeah. He’s always perfect. (Snicker.) As long as we do exactly what he wants, exactly when he wants it. He gets that from his father. (Snicker.)
Speaking of his father, I walked into the living room the other day and found my husband with my son. Henry isn’t wearing any clothes, which is less unusual than it ought to be. Unfortunately, costume changes are quite frequent for our little guy. But, he already loves hanging out with dad.
Back to the wedding – our niece Addy was the flower girl. Killing me with the cuteness.
In other news … I got an 8-foot chalkboard for free on Craigslist. I had to drive an hour to get it, but it was worth it. I’m still giddy thinking about it. It’s seriously huge and so heavy. It’s originally from an Iowa school and has lived in a church for years. And now, with us.
The fact that I don’t “technically” have a place for it right now is beside the point. Eventually, it will go into the basement of our old house. Maybe it will live in the barn until then?
Henry also recently got to meet his cousin Sarah for the first time. Sarah and Henry were actually born on the same day, so it’s fun to check out their differences.
Their great-grandma Sandi was a little happy to see them. The babies were over the photo ops. Particularly my child.
Side note: Does it make a bad mother that I crack up laughing at that photo? Every. Single. Time.
And that, my friends, is a little of what’s been going on around here. I know. I’m officially a mommy-blogger. I need my card.
No seriously. Where’s my mommy blogger ID card?
