Well, there have already been a lot of firsts in Henry’s life. First night in the crib. First smile. First laugh.
But these firsts truly takes the cake.
Last weekend, Henry took on IKEA. (Or more accurately, slept through his visit to IKEA.) And we lived to tell the tale.
Ryan’s Aunt Joanell and Uncle Les from Tennessee came up to visit me. Okay. They really came to visit Henry. (And they are also our favorite Tennessee blog readers.)
And we all decided that a trip to IKEA would be the cat’s meow. I said yes before I thought through the fact that my 3-month-old baby would be in tow.
Henry does great in the car and has been on plenty of road trips, but I was still a little nervous. It would be a long day for him. But, I shouldn’t have been nervous. He did awesome. Slept on and off all day, woke up just long enough to eat, smile and coo for a bit. Then, he passed out again.
And that night, he slept for 10 hours. Which is certainly a record in the Woodward household. Shopping is hard work.
I didn’t need much at IKEA, but still ended up bringing home a load, including some of my favorite stand-by items.
I also came home with a few wooden toys. Which Henry is too young to really enjoy. But it’s kind of all about me anyway, right? And they are so cute. So, I’ll just put them in his room until he wants to play with them. Because he will want to play with them. 😉
