Thanks for all your rug insights yesterday. You all are the best. Now I know that a “Vote or die” post title is the way to get attention. I’ll try to use that knowledge for good, not evil.
In week 32 of our house renovations, tile was the name of the game.
Have you installed subway tile? It’s not really difficult, just super time consuming.
But, I think the end result looks really nice with the hexagon tile floors.
Still more to do and grout before it’s completed, but it’s coming along really nicely.
Don’t the edges look pretty?
And because everything cannot be easy, Ryan also drilled into a (brand-new) water line this week, had to tear out part of the (brand-new) wall to repair it, and then put it all back together. That really pleased him (sarcasm). Poor guy just can’t catch a break.
Luckily, it didn’t leak enough to destroy anything in the brand new drywalled kitchen below. There are angels among us, folks. A ruined kitchen ceiling may have driven my poor husband over the edge.
So, the recap – Ryan’s been working really hard to get the bathroom finished. Next up – trim, beadboard and the vanity. The end is in sight.
What do you think?

The tile looks superb! Stupendous! Scrumdiddlyumptious! Ryan gets a big high five from me. I think, when we finish the addition as the master bath, there will be subway tile. In 30 or so years… As always, I admire and salute your continued progress!

Oh you poor thing! That’s horrible. I’m glad it didn’t ruin the downstairs.
The subway tile looks amazing. I’m a huge fan of subway tile, too.

The tiles look great. I kind of liked tiling. I’m so sorry to hear about the waterline/drywall, but glad it can be fixed easily.

i love how that’s a little tub niche, with that angled wall. the tiles look fab! we used very large subway tile in our bathroom remodel, and we (for once) had outside help from family.

The tiling looks beautiful! I have a similar look in my bathroom, except my tiles are square (I like subway better). My floor is also similar, but I don’t have any of those cute hexagon flowers in mine!

Ooh, it’s yummy! I’m a big fan of the subway tile look – especially when combined with smaller tiles elsewhere. I love the variation.

This post made me just as happy as the first sneak peak of that tile – I’m smitten and in love… seriously when will it be done so I can MOVE in :+)

The tiles look great, Kim! So impressed that you guys even got them up on the angled wall… I don’t know why, but it seems like that would be really tricky! ๐

Poor Ryan! My husband did the same thing when we remodeled the girls bathroom. We had to tear out the wall and try to repair it at 11:30 at night. I’m pretty sure that’s the last plumbing he’ll be doing – ha! The tile is looking good!!

Yay! I’m so happy for you guys! Things are looking phenomenal and (at least based on how you talk about it on the blog) you both seem to be handling all the stress with a good dose of grace.
