So, in our neck of the woods, the media has been talking of this supposed pumpkin shortage.
Ummm….. my father-in-law and I are calling them out on that. Because pumpkins have been growing at the Woodwards’ like it’s going out of style.
You remember my dozen or so pumpkins that grew up as volunteers from last year’s pumpkins?
And, the DOZENS of baby pumpkins that popped up as volunteers at my in-laws’ house?
Steve also planted giant pumpkins and 5 or 6 these came up. I couldn’t help snapping a few photos.
They are so awesome.
(The normal-sized orange pumpkin above is from our yard.)
We’re so good at this, I don’t think we’ll ever spend our hard-earned money on pumpkins again. (Those suckers get expensive.)
And, I’m just thowing this out there… maybe the pumpkin farmers need to take some lessons from us. Or we should just become pumpkin farmers (and this is honestly a dream of mine, so don’t put it down).
What do you think?

Yes, you should become pumpkin farmers! Your pumpkins are beautiful. I heard about the shortages as well but frankly I am not seeing it at the pumpkin farms.
Seeing all these pumpkins are making me crave pumpkin seeds:) My grandmother use to heat them in the oven for me. What a treat!

I can see it now….the Woodwards pumpkin patch. You could have hayrides and cider and apple picking too. And maybe even chickens! And I will come visit!
I guess that is getting a little ahead of myself. But you need to put that pumpkin green thumb to good use!

I have always wanted to be pumpkin farmer too. I am trying to convince the husband it would be a great use for some of our acreage. He isn’t buying it yet.

You would make a fantastic pumpkin farmer!
Oh my god, you would totally need overalls and a little piece of straw to chew on… Hehe. Adorable! I would drive three hours to patronize your pumpkin patch.
I’m seriously jealous of all those free pumpkins you guys are just raking in.
