I picked a bell pepper, a few banana peppers, a few cucumbers and some small and cherry tomatoes so far this week.
And, here are some shots of the other plants. (Our cucumbers are doing great. I’m hoping they’ll start producing like crazy soon. I have picked 5 or 6.)
I think the peppers are scrawny compared to last year, but there are lots of healthy peppers coming in so I can’t complain.
I still haven’t figured out what this is. I’m leaning towards volunteer pumpkins. But, it could just be a giant climbing weed for all I know. There are some beans growing in there as well yet.

Ummmm first you in the apron with the vegetables is such a cute picture. And I am with Ryan in gardening in flipflops.
That is too bad with the tomatoes. I have no idea what is is but ours are splitting open which looks bad but from what I googled there is not much I can do about it. So they aren’t pretty but they still taste good.
My raspberries just started to look really sick though. In general I am fighting a lot more diseases and pests this year than last. I wonder why….

My banana peppers taste kinda waxy…I’m not impressed. I think we have some of those spots on our tomatoes, too. You guys are so good at growing your own food, you are my inspiration!

Your garden looks so great. We are not having good luck this year! The heat is taking its toll on the plants! Can’t wait to see what the mystery plant is!

Okay, first that apron is adorable!! Love it!! Second, I’m totally jealous of your entire garden. Mystery plant included. (Beanstalk maybe? Jack and Beanstalk style?!) And finally, I know absolutely nothing about caring for plants (seriously, I’ve killed cactus… plants from the desert)… but I’m decent with google. ๐ Try this link: http://aggie-horticulture.tamu.edu/archives/parsons/vegetables/tomato.html
Google is my BFF ๐ LOL

kim, your garden looks so great. congrats! so much to be proud of.
with the tomatoes … last year we had some sort of blight that affected almost everyone’s tomatoes with similiar ‘blackening’. i didn’t see it first hand, so i’m not sure. but i did know part of the plant turned black as well.
bummer though. sorry to hear about that. but it looks like the rest of your crop is making up for it!

I’m so impressed/jealous of your garden! Well done! I was able to pick 2 bell peppers so far from my plant and was thrilled about them, they were so yummy. Looks like you will have a ton of yummy veggies from your garden. Enjoy!

Your Garden looks awesome.
My garden is alright. My Basil, Rosemary and Cilantro are doing great. My oregano looks weird and my two tomatoe plants… One is a Better Boy which looks pitiful, but it does have tomatos growing so I assume it still works, and the other, a plum tomato plant is doing well. Already had 3 plum tomatos and more coming.
This weekend I have to plant some of the seeds that I had bought last month, before the season ends!

Wow, you guys never fail to impress me. Our tomato plant actually has little green tomatoes on it this year. It’s success in my book!

So impressive! I’m totally wishing I would have attempted some kind of produce this year… Expect an email next spring asking for advice ๐ thanks for encouraging me thru your own adventure.

Your garden is amazing! We got 3 cherry tomatoes this week, and that was uber-thrilling… we’re hoping that more cucs, peppers, and tomatoes will be on their way soon…
Leigh says
Whoa, jolly green giant really is everywhere! It looks kinda cool spilling on to your deck. I’m jealous about the potatoes. How many do you get off one plant?
Mrs. Adventure says
WOW that’s fantastic I’m impressed!
Amanda @ Serenity Now says
WOW! Those are some good eats, except maybe the tomatoes. I don’t know what the spots are…what a bummer! ๐

I think they’re tomato freckles. They must be Irish. And seriously? With the apron cuteness? Stop being housewife of the year please, you’re too much.
Jessica @ This Blessed Life says
I have no idea what’s wrong with your tomatoes but you are just too cute in your little apron out there in your garden! Love it! ๐
